I only caught the very beginning of the interview, but thought it was somewhat relevant to other discussions here.
Coach Brandon: "So my son called the other day and said, 'Man people on the internet are saying you coach like Homer Simpson, and I said, well, they may be right." (or something like that, you get the point) Glad he recognizes that he has some flaws. D'oh!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

student union speech
Today at the student union GB gave a speech about school spirit and how he wanted everyone at the game. Omar, Teddy, and Mike Thaler were there behind him. He also mentioned in a joking matter the "he was not the coach on Wednesday night."

Re: student union speech
That's a great thing for him to do!! I hope a LOT of students come to the game. And his comments about coaching, well, you have to admire a guy who can do that. Being able to poke fun at yourself is a good thing!!jerzyboy247 wrote:Today at the student union GB gave a speech about school spirit and how he wanted everyone at the game. Yeah, I was kinda surprised to hear him say that , shows atleast that he knows he's got growing up to do as a head coach.Falcon Fanatic wrote:He also said that tonight at the radio show at Fricker's.Warthog wrote:I only caught the very beginning of the interview, but thought it was somewhat relevant to other discussions here.

Seriously, I know Coach Brandon wants to win as badly as anyone. Has he made mistakes? Sure, plenty. But he's also done a hell of a job at BGSU.
I like a guy that can laugh at himself and doesn't take things too seriously.
Regardless of the opponent on Saturday, we're gonna see a focused, business approach. BG is gonna start kicking tail. The MAC Title is all that matters....the MAC Title.
