Mruczkowski reunion this weekend

Scott and Gene are going to be on the same field this weekend when San Diego plays in New England.

When the Chargers drafted Scott Mruczkowski last April, the young offensive lineman looked at the schedule and immediately planned a family get together for this weekend. For a couple weeks, it didn’t look like their reunion was going to happen.

Mruczkowski’s older brother Gene spent the 2003 and 2004 seasons with the Patriots but was released at the end of training camp this summer. New England re-signed him to their active roster on Tuesday.

“The timing of it all couldn’t have been better,” the younger Mruczkowski said of Gene’s signing. “After he got cut, it looked like we weren’t going to get to be on the field together. Now the whole family is going to meet up and have a great time.”
