Here's the Temple preview from one of our newspapers. It really is just a story on how the team has to win this year if it's going to survive.

Falcon fans beware - Temple is better than most people think. They focused their recruiting on solid JUCO players because they know they must win now.

I think Temple will go one of two ways - they'll either surprise several teams or implode into a tailspin. If it's the latter, there will be lots of chest thumping. If it's the latter, it could be very, very ugly.
I really wish they could build a respectable program. Between them and Rutgers, all we ever hear about here is Penn State.

"I don't know if we have a chip on our shoulders," said Temple coach Bobby Wallace, who is 17-51 in six seasons. "But I don't think we deserved what we got."
He's absolutly right, the millions of dollars they got for being in the BCS, they didn't deserve that at all!

Beware the Temple of doom.
These guys had a messge board I recall, they weren't fond of us poking around over there, or that we thought we would win. Anybody remember or still have the address, I'm having trouble finding it via Google.

Why is there an attendance requirment to say 1A? Why place so much importance on something the University ultimately cannot control?MotownFalcon wrote:I still don't get the BCS...If you are division I-A, you should have equal opportunity...Why do you need Major and Mid-Major? When did you have to start dividing I-A. It's all just BcS.

The attendance requirement is simple actually -
If you have an attendance requirement of say 20,000 to be a Division IA program, then maybe half of the programs will not meet that requirement and that leaves more money to those that do.
It just shows that the NCAA has no control over Division IA College Football, but instead it's governed by the BS Conferences.
