BG vs. Ohio for First Place in MAC East on Saturday!!!!!

Post by BGSU33 »

With Akron, Miami, Kent State and Buffalo all with a loss in the MAC so far, that puts BG and Ohio in a tie for first place in the MAC East with a shot for a solo spot atop the standings with a win next Saturday, October 8th. This is a HUGE game for both teams and one BG must win. For those of you who where at the Temple game, please come back, it was great seeing a full house. For those of who weren't there today, please come to this game. As bad as we beat Temple....Ohio is a whole new animal for us. It will not be a cake-walk like this game was. Ohio has had two weeks to prepare for us with this bye and we are going to face a tough team. Let's keep it going after this win! See you at The Doyt!

I hope the streak continues then 1987alum! This game has had me on pins and needles for a few weeks now. I've never really been worried about playing Ohio before, but for several reasons, this game makes me very nervous.

watching Rutgers toss Pitt around went a long way to remove most of my nervousness. I am expecting a good game, but a solid BG win regardless.

Yeah, I hope you are all right. Every year I get one of those bad feelings, and this game happens to be that one. If we can beat Ohio and NIU can beat Miami this week......things look really good for the Falcons in the East. GO BG - BEAT OHIO!!!!!

Your right. It is hard to believe that we are sitting here on Oct 1 and already it looks like we could pratically have the East wrapped up with a win next week. Not trying to jinxed us or anything, just trying to be positive.

On that note, raise a toast to the Chips. :partyman: They went to Miami and Akron and knocked off two of the contenders in the East. Thanks CMU! :prayer:

No doubt, things "could be looking very good for BG if we beat Ohio and NIU beats Miami. But first, we must beat Ohio.

Ohio at BGSU Oct 8th

This game is unchartered territory for Ohio. Bobcats are improving, but this game is a bit early for such an important game for Ohio. Bobcats should be better in November and have a better chance to knock off Toledo, Akron, or Miami. Ohio's offense still needs work. The defense is good, but needs to tighten up a bit against the pass in the second half of games.

BGSU looked great today vs Temple. This should be a nice crowd for BGSU next week. Ohio will bring some fans. This will be a test for Ohio to see how far apart we are from BGSU. A good performance could give Ohio confidence heading into the Toledo and Miami games both in Athens on national tv.

Speaking of TV, I was hoping that Foxsportsnetohio or ONN would pick up the BGSU-Ohio game. This is a great matchup:Jacobs vs Dion Bynum-CB with 3 td returns this season.

Speaking of which, does anyone know when Fox Sports is going to release their "MAC Game of the Week?"

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Even if we leave the OU game with a two game lead over Miami, we could still lose to them down there, and be facing the Rockets with the East on the line. That game--and our road record--are between us and winning the East.

True, but it would be a great situation to find ourselves in. But we have got to get back to work right away to prep for Ohio first. This should be a very good game. I hope we pack the Doyt again and roll to another big victory.
