Oh! I definitely think we need to go back to these falcons!

They are historic and are a link to our heritage! They are so different from any other college team's mascots out there! They have that "old school" feel and consequently aren't "trendy" or "modern!" Those are the kind of mascots that set BG apart from those other sell-out programs like Ohio State!

Back to the logos. I was at Anderson arena about four years ago for the Marching Band Sounds of the Stadium concert. A lady was looking at the logos on the back of the back of the band uniforms and asked her daughter "Why does everyone have the initials LT on their backs?"
In spite of that - I still voted for the old logo. Too damn many look-a-like bird logos out there.

That's a little extreme. Maybe change nothing prior to the Carter administration, but definitely not as far back as Kennedy.CapitalFalcon wrote: God, what you basically have to understand is that many people on this board are opposed to anything changing to anything at BGSU prior to the Kennedy administration. I am sure there are people here that think the new Union is a blight on the campus and that the Old Union was fantastic and that tearing down Prout Hall was a travesty!
Given that I went to a lot of trouble to get a "Falcon's Nest" sign from the Old Union (thanks NWLB), plus the mosaic Morse Code messages -- the Old Union was a pretty special place to me.
The new union is pretty cool, though.

My gripe with the new crows, er I mean Falcons, is that they look way to cartoonish. The old costumes looked mean. I want the mascot to look like it was suited up and ready to go out and tear our opponents head off just like the team it is there to support. These look like they would get out on the 50 and try to get both teams to sing a song and make the worlds troubles to away. I don't watch "Barney" so why would I want our mascots to be the same thing?????

No offense, but I don't think that is the point of a mascot costume. They are for the kids. Name me one college mascot that looks "like it was suited up and ready to go out and tear our opponents head off." Do any of these strike fear in the hearts of men???It's the Journey... wrote:My gripe with the new crows, er I mean Falcons, is that they look way to cartoonish. The old costumes looked mean. As much as I disliked the change at first, I am with Capitol on this one.
The costumes are meant not to battle for victory but to spread good will to the fans, students and community.
Looking back at the old freddie and frieda's that I loved and still enjoy seeing when they break them out, I can't help but think, man those look pretty cheap.
