I tried to put the brakes on Fall Break at the last college when I was the Calendar Committee Chair and I met so much resistance - from the FACULTY1987alum wrote:CapitalFalcon wrote:Fall Break!?!? speaking of breaks and such...I have found it to be not only lame but disturbing that the UNIV, and the city schools dont have the same break sch. If I worked at the univ as a prof and my kids were in school in town here I would be livid, it makes no sense that the two are not aligned.
But as for the game, i am working on 20 folks.
If I were a student, and now with absence of the Mery MAdness- Frazy Frenzy...i would turn tail gate into one huge party...get some generators, some bands...and lots of kegs.

Then you would be livid in a lot of college towns. When I lived in NC, none of the three colleges in Fayetteville had the same break schedule as the Cumberland county schools.MACMAN wrote:I have found it to be not only lame but disturbing that the UNIV, and the city schools dont have the same break sch. I don't want to put a negative spin on this, but don't expect many students. Out of the 30 I've asked, 28 are going home.
I'll be there on the East side with my Dad and Aunt, both livid OSU fans.

THE Place to tailgate is the Muni Lot, just south of the shoreway.BGSUVA wrote:u tailgaiting before the Bears game anywhere?
Go into town on 80, get off at East 9th street. Take that all the way to the Shoreway (Rt. 2). Take a right, the parking lot will be the first turn on the right.
Usually have to get there before 9:30 or so to get a spot, but its a blast, a HUGE party. Ya'll are Bears fans, so you'll be razzed a little, but nothing violent (not like you're Steeler fans).
Dern kids!
