No kidding! Imagine the game going into OT and instead of a traditional back and forth they have a field goal kicking contest. We'd both be better off pulling people from the stands!

I really think there will be a LOT of students at the game regardless of fall break. It's not like spring break where they get a whole week to go to Florida. The university is also handing out tickets to their employees as well as kids under 14 (I think) get in free with adults. Plenty of incentive to get people to the game!!! This game WILL be a home field advantage!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

True, but nothing can replace having students in the crowd. Putting faculty or kids in the seats is great, but for a home field advantage, nothing compares to students. Sitting on the West side with students and sitting on the East side without them is like day and night - not even close. Same thing at Anderson Arena. I hope we get a good turn out, but it would be nice to have the usual student pool. But whatever, let's beat Ohio.

Also, we've gave up yardage, but we have also made the big plays on D. Like I said before, I look forward to a great game on both sides. Hopefully this game will determine the east. If we can't win it, I'd much rather see BG than those fools down in oxford.
I think everyone is gonna be surprised at how many students will be there. The game doesn't start until 6pm and judging by the turnout last weekend, there will be plenty of students there. Why they need a break in the fall is beyond me. I never got one.
BG will still have a huge home field advantage. The Falcons are 22-2 in their last 24 games at the Doyt...both losses to, as you put it, "those fools down in Oxford". BG loves playing at The Doyt.
GO FALCONS!

You definitely do have a home field advantage, the record speaks for itself. I'm just hoping with part of the student body being gone that the advantage is somewhat diminished. Both teams, and fan bases for that matter, know how important this game is. The truth is right now OU fans are hoping for something like what BG has rolling now...we'd love the home field winning streak and the hype behind some big time players. We are moving in the right direction and this game is huge for us, being that we are trying to establish ourselves. Like I've said before, I hope for an exciting game with no injuries...and hopefully a cats win for my sake;) Good luck to yall, wish I could be there saturday
Read the post above yours, the first line says that you do have a homefield advantage...even says the record speaks for itself. Kinda curious what you are trying to question.
No matter what the experts predict, I believe this will be a good all around game. From what I gather, BG has a subpar defense and a great offense. Inverse that and you get Ohio. If Jacobs has an average day on the field, I think we can make the game close and maybe pull the upset. But if he's right on top of his game? Well, lights out. We'll need to put some heavy pressure on him to throw him off, but he's a pretty poised kind of guy.
I plan to make my first trip into your stadium this weekend, any tips of where to park/tailgate/etc?
Yes do a MapQuest for North Manville/ Poe Road. Or you could look at a campus map and find the area behind Offenhauer, the technology building, and the Rugby fields.

BG does not have a sub-par defense. They have just played below expectations in two pretty tough environments against two pretty good teams. They played pretty well against BSU but got burned by two trick plays and a true freshman DB that is improving dramatically game to game.

RWT:
BG is last in the nation in rush defense. I agree that's below expectations, but I would dare say it is also subpar.
For now.
I think Saturday's game will tell the tale on BG's defense for the rest of the year. A good performance and we can chalk things up to a slow start. If they struggle again, we'll all have to strap in for a long, bumpy ride.
