Horrible

Post by kdog27 »

This was an awful game. In one word we, sucked. I give much credit to NIU. It looked like we were going dominate this game in the first quarter. I was hoping that our defense was bad against Oklahoma only because it was Oklahoma. Now I am apt to think that Oklahoma is not all that good. NIU's 2nd string TB ran on us like we were a CYO team. And give the f***in ball to Pope some more, he could have ran all over them, go with what is working, not with what usually works. So mad. I stopped warching after it was 31-10, I couldn't take it.

Yeah I feel your pain. NIU's offensive line man handled our D-line. Our defense could be just as bad as UT's. 3 things stuck out that changed the game. The missed field goal, Jacobs TD that was called back because of a penalty, and that blown call by the official when NIU RB lost the ball and should have been a touch back not TD. Just wasn't our night. It was a very weird game by the Falcons....just don't understand the performance :( It looks we need to be rooting for UT to beat NIU for us to have any type of chance to win the MAC now!

It was, sad to say, a good old-fashioned butt kicking. Sure, it was a bad call on the TD, but we just plain got beat tonight, and beat badly. I'm very disappointed. NIU ran the ball down our throat without mercy, and when they went to the air, it was usually there. They just raced all over us.

On offense, we simply cost ourselves too many key opportunities. The offense didn't produce as it should, either. They weren't as bad as the D, but it wasn't there. I thought our play callling was very conservative, and there were times they rushed three guys and pressured Omar. When three guys get pressure and there are eight in coverage, there isn't a lot you can do.

A disaster that got gradually worse as they game went along. No excuses...their team was just lots better than our team today.

Oklahoma is good! We just didn't open it up on you guys. Stoops always plays the first game very conservative and works on basic running plays. If Stoops would have used more of the play book it could have gotten real ugly. Houston is not a bad team. They totally out gained and out played Miami last night and we had 50 on them at half.

Tonight you guys were simply outcoached! Novak made your coach look silly! You guys made zero half time adjustments! I think BG has far superior talent, but your coaches seemed clueless tonight. It is really too bad. BG had the talent to win the MAC. As it is right now you will be lucky to beat Marshall and Toledo.

Good luck the rest of the season!

Did the bye week kill us? We talk so much about offense on this board. The defense will be under the microscope from here on out. Those posts that were made prior to and after the Sooner game about the D-Line being to small might be very true. We clearly needed a big bubba clogging up the middle tonight. A 5'7" pee wee was running up the middle on us.

i want to say that you are wrong but I cannot. We were outcoached, plain and simple. There is no way we should have ever been down in this game by 3 tds

I think Dr. Sooner's right. We got out coached. The secondary looked like D-II High School. The D-line was more porus than Sponge Bob Squarepants. Omar's clock management was a factor...again. And we just looked like schmucks. No wonder the MAC is back and not on anyone's minds. We break through, talk about people respecting us, and what do we do, flush it. How many time did we run the same Pope to the outside play one after another. HELLO!!! The NIU defense are not suffering from short-term memory loss. Good GOD this was awful!

Not to be too critical, but I think Dr. Sooner has a point. We seem to suck in the third quarter of most games. That leads me to think that there is something happening at halftime that is screwing us up. Is it that the other teams are making adjustments to us? Are we not making adjustments? One way or the other, we need to be better after the break.

Not only were we outcoached, but our kids were not showing any kind of emotion, while the NIU kids were jumping up and down and celebrating after knocking somebody over. I think they were just more ready to play. I am not saying that I agree with some of the ways that the NIU kids were celebrating and jawing, but hey, they were ready to play.
