Well, at least our quarterback isn't 38 yrs. old.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Now it's past tense. 51-48 NW.
BG = NW with a slightly worse defense.

This has not been the year to be ranked in the Big Ten, eleven, whatever. The higher ranked team always seems to lose...falconboy wrote:is this just one of those bizzare things that happen in the Big11 from time to time? :-\

I think Bowling Green and Northwestern are pretty similar teams. I look at those scores against Wisconsin -- and the real difference is that Northwestern got 'em at home and we had to play in Madison.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Now it's past tense. 51-48 NW.

The way Northern Illinois came within a whisker Northwestern at home makes me even more confident that we are pretty similar.
It will be nice to get Wisconsin in Browns Stadium next year.

The Big Ten just beats on itself week in and week out.falconboy wrote:Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Now it's past tense. 51-48 NW.

Wow!That was a shock! Didn't see that one coming at all. Is Northwestern for real or is this just one of those bizzare things that happen in the Big11 from time to time? :-\
Wisconsin cannot defend the spread.

They didn't stop Calhoun.
Wisconsin’s Brian Calhoun became the first Badger with more than 100 yards rushing and receiving in a game, carrying 23 times for 122 and catching 11 passes for 128 yards.

Sutton....pure and simple. That kid was awesome at Akron Hoban and now he is tearing up the Big Ten.
There was a writer in the Akron Beacon Journal today saying Sutton would look damn good in an OSU uni.
The thing is, he is a fine student and actually cares about his grades. He chose NW cuz of NW's high standards.
He is one heck of a player.

Factors in a three point loss
Start with Wisconsin missing three of its top eight defensive linemen.
Then, for the third year in a row, NW gets a bye week before the UW game.
NW has a great offense. Their big line caused trouble for our linebackers. That's the first time all year that happened.
Add in a couple of important (and clearly wrong) officils' calls and you have an upset.
Problem is, Wisconsin didn't really come out flat in this game. I fear that might happen against Minnesota.
I'd take Jacobs over Basinez any day. But Sutton was good, and he'll be around a few years more.

Bring back the Bucky Wagon, and
ON, WISCONSIN!
