At large

Keep in mind that a 10-2 NIU team with wins over Maryland and at Alabama was left home while Tulsa and Navy, combined with a best win over Wake, were taken as at-large bids.

I hope you're right, Schad, I really do.

My bad - this was supposed to be a reply to Schad's thread. :o

Dan is absolutely correct on this. NIU was totally screwed last yr. :x

Ya know? If NIU ends up winning the West, I'll be happy for them. They've been knocking on the door for the last few years and haven't gotten any reward for the great strides their program has made. When Novak took over, he went 3-30 his first 3 years....THREE and THIRTY!
I hated losing that game the other night but, after 48 hours to reflect, NIU deserves a chance to play in a bowl game. They've EARNED it.

I still hope they lose 2 MAC games and BG runs the table but NIU looks to be on a mission this year.

Congrats on the win....GO BG!~

Since there's no way to veify this comment, I'm going to make myself smart and post it.

Going into the season, I had more concern about NIU than UT. I would have given virtually anyting to have played the Huskies in October. Maybe we would have played better with a few more games under our belts.

Then again, the Huskies may have similarly improved with experience.

I have a ton of respect for your team and your coach. I don't have much respect for your continued practice of putting the student section behind the opponent's bench. The conference has asked its members to do otherwise...why not comply? (With the exception of 10 kids that Gregg Brandon buys tickets for, BG switched sides more than 10 years ago)

What I've been told is that it was a suggestion by the conference, not a rule, and a buffer zone was also suggested, and in that regard NIU complied - the first few rows of the East side (at least around the team) was blocked off.

Apparently Miami has the worst student section in the MAC, and it's not close.
