D.J. DURKIN!!!

Post by BGSU33 »

I like this guy!!! After Buffalo’s drive for a score today to tie the game at 7-7, when the defense came off the field, he lit a fire under some of those defensive line guys. He was screaming at them to get off the field and pulled them off to the side and had them sit down on the bench and started giving them a piece of his mind. There were a couple guys taking their good old time getting over to the bench, and let’s just say he told them to hurry it up. Now I don’t know exactly what he was saying (but I have my ideas), but I loved the drive and passion he showed with the lackluster play he was witnessing. It was like he wanted to suit up and play again. Afterwards, I noticed the defense played much better and with a lot more fire after that tongue-lashing.

I've noticed him doing this every game. Heck, I've noticed all our coaches doing it at some point. Some just have more effect than others.

On a side note, do your plates say BGSU 33? Cause I believe my dad and I passed you on the way home. You waved and I nodded...we were in a red car!

I drive a Cavalier. It's red. I have a red Cavalier.

I have no doubt that the coaches have become increasingly PO'd at times, it's very encouraging to see the defense (or whatever unit) take it to heart and take the game over like that.

Ya know, not too many people BG fans in red cars probably passed him on the way home. Shut it

Metz,

Yeah, that was me! I was flying solo today (my fiancee was in France and my dad had to work), but I couldn't sit back home and not go to the game. Better to go solo than not at all. Yeah, I saw you guys pass me and I saw a guy (you) wearing a BG jersey so I nodded at you. Hopefully we can meet sometime.

Durkin was intense as a player and now as a coach. I like him a whole lot on our staff! He laid down some wood and the D responded and pitched a shutout the rest of the way!
