Had to chuckle ...

Post by 1987alum »

Missed this from last week's Bottom 10:

"Answers: Zip and zip. Questions: Number of Akron wins and Charlie Frye's chance for Heisman consideration."

Before I get flamed, yes, I think Frye is going to be a good NFL QB. But that's still funny stuff.

yes, the bottom 10 is possibly the funniest page in sports history. They should update it hourly.

my personal fav, was the other week when #7 was "directional michigan"

then the next week there were no directional michigans teams even on teh waiting list, they usually comment when the planets allign like that

Mel Kiper was pimpin' Frye last Saturday night on ESPN radio. He was asked by the host what the Purdue quarterbacks' Heisman chances were.

He said (and I'm paraphrasing): Yeah, he's in the mix, but I think he has to get in line behind the Connecticut quarterback and Charlie Frye. Once Frye gets into MAC play, he's going to put up numbers. He has no one around him.

It wasn't an NFL draft discussion, either (although perhaps it should have been). It was a Heisman discussion.

Thats b/c every point Akron puts up is b/c of Charlie. He is a horse. He's like the john Reimold of football, but times about 9

Directional michigan is back at #10 this week, here is the quote:

"Western was clobbered by Ball State. Eastern lost to Div. I-AA Eastern Illinois. Central disappointed against bye."

Even with an off week Central takes crap, thats just plain mean.

EDIT: Temple is on the bottom 10 waiting list this week, even more incentive to not lose to them.

Temple, like Buffalo and Army, is a regular on this list. I'd like to see BG give them a "boost" to the top 5.
