From today's Blade. Pretty offensive about our defense

Fair points, hammb. I still just think (and I'm going from the same perspective you are, only reading The Blade's website if someone links a story here, or the occasional Sunday perusal) that it's crap. For years it seems like it's been a "beat writer only" type deal when covering BG, even when we WERE doing noteworthy things. And it's not even so much the negative article thing that gets me, but that two SEPARATE writers have decided that now is the time to turn their attention to BG.

Personally, I think someone should forward this story to Coach Brandon to make sure he sees it and it should be blown up and put up in our locker room before ALL of our remaining games this season. If this kind of stuff is being said in practically your own backyard and it doesn't fire you up, I don't know what will. I think every player on our team should be aware this is the new perception of this team. To be fair, I almost can't fault the guy for writing what he did. But all the bitching and moaning we're doing on this board isn't going to change a thing on the field. The team should see this, it should be sent to Coach Brandon, put up in our locker room, heck, even pinned up around campus. This might be just the thing we needed to get our players attention, we could find ourselves thanking this guy at the end of the season!

I forgot to add, Bowers was the one who recruited Timchenko, a JUCO transfer from CA, and put him on scholarship, after allegedly seeing him kick.

Bowers is a joke.
