I didn't post about it, but Sunday after the Steelers game they switched over to the Chargers/Eagles game. Scott was pretty much getting dominated when he was playing, but he's probably too raw just yet. You don't expect late 2nd day draft pick OL to come in and play right away...Warthog wrote:From Tuesday Morning Quaterback on NFL.com

I saw the game and Schottenheimer's post-game comments on the matter as well. Esentially, he said that Scott was inserted into a position he normally would not play on the field-goal team. Mruczkowski and Steve Foley, then didn't close the gap properly on the blocked field goal. Mruczkowski was only in on the field goal team because Nick Hardwick was out with an injury. None of this is an excuse, just an explanation as to why the gaffe may have occurred. Just a rough day for Scott and the Chargers.
I heard in the post game comments of the guy that blocked the FG that during film sessions Philly noticed that the two end guys on the field goal formation left a huge lane in other games. That's why they had the end guy rush so far up field, thus, creating a lane for the guy who eventually blocked the kick to run through. So perhaps it was a scheme problem as well as an execution problem. It certainly didn't help that it was Mruczkowski's first play on special teams.
