We no longer control our own destiny!

Well coach Brandon we no longer control our own destiny. At first I felt we would beat Akron, KSU and Toledo, but lose the division and game to Miami. Now I am not so sure we will win another game.

Perhaps coach Brandon will realize that defense and special teams are as important, if not more important, then offense. This team is poorly coached and has been getting worse since the season began.

Brandon has been living off Blackney's and Meyer's talent and the cupboard is about empty. He has proven to be a poor recruiter and does not have the management skills to right the ship.

With next years OOC schedule I don't see too may wins in our future. Lets just hope Jacobs stays for his Sr. year and gives us a little respectability.

Is this program on a similar decline like the teams towards the end of Blackney's days!!!!!! I hope not. But when I went to Wisconsin to watch the team, even though we lost, I thought that the season was still promising. And after each loss we say, it's only one game, we will right the ship. Then we lose again and we say the same thing. I think we all now realize that Kent could be our last win of the season... if we're lucky. I'm ready for basketball season......I've given up hope on the football team this year. Blast me for saying that, but so be it.........

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. We have a TON of talent on this team. Our coaching staff just has no idea what to do with them. Suffice to say, though, that we will not be recruiting the same level of talent in the near future.

Coach keeps saying someone needs to 'step up' and help Turner. How about the coach stepping up and doing a better job preparing the team. He needs to look in the mirror.

and again he said we are not a good tackling team. My God man, it's November. You have had three months to do something about this. How about doing some tackling drills in practice?

The fact that our kicking game is sooo suspect, efects how we play in the redzone and it annoys me!

But on another note, I've come to appreciiate the decent kickers I've seen on other teams who have shown how much of an advantage they have over BG. It makes a huge difference.

Yes, we do have talent but unfortuanatly about 60% of em are at the wrong position. We got a 5'9 190lb db in Tim Arnold playing outside linebacker and we got DE's playing DT , linebackers playing DE, and the list goes on. What else can say?

That post game press conferece was just a long joke. This guy has no clue what it takes to coach a Division 1A football team. We shall rue the day we gave him a contract extension.

Take solace in that it is only until 2008. Just heard that Wiez(sp?) was signed to a 10yr contract by ND. Now that is a bit much a bit early

The second part is right. But in what parallel universe do we control our own destinry? If Akron wins out, how do we beat them?

these descriptions of tackling and kicking could be describing miami, too. i think it's tough to take, but some of the lesser rans...akron, ball u, cmu are simply getting better. it's a wake up call for bg and miami (and niu and toledo). the rest of the league isn't as bad as they always have been. i think miami fans and bg fans were expecting both teams to be unbeaten (league play) when we met, but the rest of the league is simply much better - though i contend the mac overall is not good this year.

You know, I do think the MAC is more even this year, and the lower teams in the conference are getting a little better, but I think the top teams in the league are coming back to the pack, too. How do you reconcile tonight's result with the Akron-Army result?

Maybe they figured Omar would carry them, maybe they believed their own press clippings...who knows....who cares? The point is that this football team has forgotten what it took to get them where they were at the end of the 2003 and 2004 seasons.

In the offseason the coaching staff (at least the guys who still work here) are going to have to tear it all down and start over again. Whatever lead they've given these kids is going to have to be taken in. Off season conditioning get's taken up a notch, if you expect to play you better be here over the summer and nobody is assumed to be a starter this spring and fall (yes, even Omar).

No detail is too small to be drilled, no player is too important to be exempted from earning his spot.

Oh...the MAC isn't better this year. The bottom teams have improved somewhat, but the guys at the top are nowhere near as formidable as the were in 2003
