Waching the Akron game reminded me of last year's frustration against NIU. Omar threw the short ball a lot in that one and NIU had no problem bottling us up.

The next week against Temple we opened things up and started moving the football again.
Reading this just fired me up again. No way after the NIU game did I think we were about to go on the tear that we did, but the team got in sync and we were darn impressive after that. Let's hope that Kent game was the kick in the rear that we need to get it going. We talk about past leaders, but I saw little leadership in that NIU game. Sometimes adversity is what makes those leaders start stepping it up. We do have a few guys now that have been quite fired up and they are on defense. The defense may not be having all the stops we need, but I still see leaders out there ranting/raving/yelling and trying to get the guys around them to step it up. They are out there turning to the crowd to stand up and help give them energy on 3rd down stops. The offense has been a bit more relaxed, but that could be due to the fact they had not faced this type of adversity as an offense in over a year.

Better to have this happen when it did than later when there is not enough time in the season left to make a difference.

GO BG!!! :supz:

Good point.....as bad as things have been the last 2 weeks, BG can still play for the MAC title. We haven't brought our "A" game all year, except the first half at Wisconsin and the Temple game.

I can't wait til Saturday...
