Yes, I have heard that rumor. I talked to our AD over Media Relations yesterday and he said that GMAC Bowl officials will be at the game Wednesday, but they have not said anything to us about inviting us to their bowl game if we win.
My gut is telling me a win over NIU will get us the invite though, either after the game or in the next day or two after it.
Well, wouldn't a win against NIU clinch the West for you guys? If you sew up a slot in the MACC game, it wouldn't be a surprise to get the bowl invite immediately.

Yes, a win over NIU will give us at least a share of the West Title with WMU and we own the tie-breaker so we will be in the MACC game if we beat the puppies.
You know, if we make the MAC Championship but lose, I can see why the GMAC bowl would want WMU over us. WMU beat us on our home field (thanks to a timely injury of course), so that alone should give them more of a case to go.
