No. If we beat Toledo, we win the MAC East and Toledo is done. If we lose, then a Northern Illinois win over UT hurts us if us, Akron, and Miami all end up tied. The tiebreaker in question is strength of schedule against MAC West opponents. Entering tonight, our opponents schedule was 14-6, Akron's was 12-8, and Miami's was 10-10, thus giving us the tiebreaker. But after tonights game, Akron's record moves to 13-8 and ours moves to 14-7, so its getting closer.

Looks like Brucie boy might have put one of his receivers in the hospital with 3 minutes left in the game.

Akron only has two chances for opponent wins--NIU when they play WMU, and either Ball State or Central when they play each other. They have to get one, and they might get two. So, they are 15-9. maximum.

Under the scenario, UT beats BG, so we're at 15-7. If Ball State wins at home against Central on Saturday, we go to 16, and we can't lose. If Western beats NIU, we go to 16, and Akron goes back to 14. So there are other chances for us to move ahead with a loss.

And Miami has to beat OU.

Man what a play down near the endzone, i sure hope this kid is ok, he took one hell of shot across the middle. Say a prayer for nick Moore

One thing is for sure, our game against Toledo has much meaning for both teams. There is no question what game Toledo will bring, and what game we need to play in this one...it should be a sellout!

Man, that was an enormous hit. This hit didn't look nearly as hard.

Not watching the game...what happened?

My memories of Corny last year are disappointment at a pick in the end zone, and flat out rage of a clear helmet-to-helmet shot on receiver that was nowhere near the play. :x

I am going to bet he has a pinched never in his neck and is out for the remainder, as his head was firmly planted against his shoulder pad. But your right in thinking he may have made a trip to the bat cave. the only other reason i am thinking pinched never is that he never moved his left leg.

inside the ten yardlline CueTip tossed a pass a bit high across the middle to More who was promptly meet by two NIU backs and put down hard, real hard, but clean.

UT's QB didn't look that sharp last night, and their defense couldn't stop NIU most of the night. Even with a frosh QB they moved well against Toledo. Their inability to move the ball on offense however is interesting. If BG's defense is truly reborn after the Miami game, the rockettes may encounter more issues than they expect.

There was talk that Toledo might sit their starting QB if they won last night, which makes me wonder if he isn't still a bit groggy. If BG gets to B.G. they way they were Betts, the game could get as ugly as last night.

Reading the Blade today, UT basically has to beat us, and pray WMU upsets NIU in DeKalb, which isn't likely. Plus they lose most of their talent on offense, and a fair amount on defense. So beating them would be a nice way of helping plow their hyped season into the ground once and for all. Nothing better than that.

Either way things look much better than they did a month ago as far as this game. Plus it has the added edge of being a chance to end Toledo's season, which is always fun.
