Cut to basketball

Post by mmr »

Being that ESPN likes to do this to us BG fans, as they did it last year, the Miami-OH game they cut to a basketball game 1/2 way through the game - Was anyone a bit nervous when they kept referring to the texas basketball game that last night (when the game was very close) they would cut to the basketball game?? I was getting angry just thinking about it and i really thought they weree, but then only id it in texas.

Nervous is not the word. They cut away from the BG-UT game last year and the BG-Miami game this year. When they started yammering about another totally meaningless college basketball game pre-empting last night's game, I about lept through the screen.

I don't know if it was a blessing or not, but I finally pulled myself to start watching the game from Tuesday. Guess what happens when we score to go up 31-24! You guessed it boys and girls, they cut to the Texas/Iowa basketball game down here. So I get didn't get to see the end of the game. Should I be mad, or should I be thankful?

While it's still incredibly frustrating, at least that situation makes a *touch* more sense, since one of the hoops teams involved was more local than the football teams involved. Dropping BG-Miami(OH) in Ohio and other parts in the midwest for UCLA-NMST is just stupid. Overlaps will happen, and I guess even though the MAC bends over backwards (or is it bending over forward?) for ESPN, they're still the low conference on the totem pole when push comes to shove. :x

The MAC continues to get no respect. This cutting of MAC games could be attributed to the fact that America just doesn't want to see the MAC play. I'm a HUGE MAC fan and it's really embarrasing to watch a Nationally televised game when just over 12K fans show up. I've gotta friend that goes to University of South Carolina and I hyped the heck out of BG ( for good reasons depspite our season) and he dogs on our attendance average. Man I wish we had a stronger fan support! Maybe the addition to the stadium could help our cause.
