Not sure about that. I know Lima Shawnee way out here. In fact, I was down in Tijuana this past weekend and heard some guys arguing at the bullfight whether it was "Lima Shawnee" or just "Shawnee". They also claimed that the bullfighter used to play for the Hicksville Aces, but I think they were pulling my leg.also bear in mind that 85% of Ohioans have never heard of Lima Shawnee.

In case some of you missed it, Patick Henry won the Div V state championship. No, not the person, the school on Route 18 between Deshler and Hamler. The OHSAA refers to them as Hamler Patrick Henry. Us folks around here know where that school is, but I am sure people in southeast OH hear Patrick Henry and think 'didn't he die like a long time ago'? So putting a city name with a school name is the proper way to do it.
And Central Catholic won the Div II title. Toledo Central Catholic, that is.

I have ties to Putnam County (Columbus Grove) and Auglaize (Wapak). While at Wapak, we kicked LIMA Shawnee's butt in most everything. To give credit due, their cheerleaders were usually hotter than any other school in the WBL at the time (with a close second to LIMA Bath). Several of them went to BG.Warthog wrote:FYI, Larry Smith took my mother-in-law as his date to his senior prom. Not a big deal, but that's my Larry Smith connection.
And having grown up in Putnam County and watching Vince Koza doing the sports on Ch. 35, I seem to recall his referencing the above mentioned school as "Lima Shawnee". If it was something else, wouldn't it be Fort Shawnee? But since it isn't "Fort", I think you have to go with Lima as the identifier.
