I think you may have me confused with another (former) member of the crew, who was very zealous in rooting for both BG and OSU.
I can't state it any plainer than to say that I have no burning desire to "catch up" with other games while preparing for, or doing our game. It only distracts from things that need to be done. Anyone who maintains that I do this is wrong. Halftime is the only time we get to leave the booth at all and at that time I'm mainly concerned with getting a drink and taking a piss, and maybe getting a bite to eat.
Sorry I attributed that to Warthog, my eyes are strained I guess.
Suffice it to say that I strive to provide the best call of the game that I can and I am not, and cannot be, preoccupied with OSU or anyone else. End of story. It is only natural to react to score updates we get or to things you may see on a monitor as you pass it. It in no way takes away from anything we do. To say otherwise is nothing but a red herring.
Hope to see you Monday night at Frickers.

Re: Talking about other games
It's one yard and I was just being sarcastic! I think you guys do a great job and always have. I could never due your job without mistakes so even if you do have them once in awhile, it's no big deal. Without you guys, we wouldn't have any idea what was happening though so thanks for taking the job and doing a great job with it!!Todd Walker wrote: Also, in reference to the Cole and P.J. TD's and the yardage of said plays, it was mentioned that the length of the plays were wrong on the radio when in fact they were not. I know because I am in the studio now cutting up the highligts.
I was at NIU as well and had a blast! So we lost, it sucked, it's over with. The fans were great to me and I had fun making fun of them while we were ahead. I hope your trip there wasn't all that bad because mine sure wasn't...BGFan wrote: I knew you were in band (I was, also, way back in 1978)...that's why I knew you'd be in uniform.
I really hope you have more fun at CMU than I did at NIU!
Re: You may be confused
Hmm, I started reading this thread and thought what the heck did I say!?!? I've got no sources! Todd, I think you do a fine job with the play-by-play. I think there may have been some sarcasm in those posts yesterday since the score at the time was 70-16. Keep up the good work.Todd Walker wrote:Sorry I attributed that to Warthog, my eyes are strained I guess.

I think we're treading into that "more information than we needed" territory here.Todd Walker wrote:Halftime is the only time we get to leave the booth at all and at that time I'm mainly concerned with getting a drink and taking a piss,
Let's just say I had fun on the trip there (Falcon Club bus)!McMetz811 wrote:I was at NIU as well and had a blast! So we lost, it sucked, it's over with. The long trip back was rather subdued....
The game was fun up to the point when it was obvious we weren't going to be able to turn it around (not to mention getting screwed on the touch back). From that point on.....
The fans weren't as bad as I'd heard they were 2 years ago, but there were quite a few there that it was obvious that they had a lot to learn about winning with style (just as there are at BG).
