That's way better than him giving Coach Vanderwalle a picture of Anderson Arena, all set up for BASKETBALL, for 29 years of service to BGSU as volleyball coach.

How about a bucket of poop for GC, or better yet NOTHING !

I'm curious as to why there hasn't been a rendering of what the scoreboard will look like released yet. Seems as though they would have to have this decided already if it's going to be built and functioning 8 months from now. Also curious if they will be using the opportunity to sell the naming rights to the video board. Even though it's being paid for by Learfield, I would think it's a great way to generate a little extra revenue for the athletic department.

Well I'm not the only one, as does our very own head coach:

Prior to his team playing OU in November, Clawson called the Bobcats a "model program" for developing lightly regarded classes into a championship contender.

I was wondering the same thing. It would also look nice if they put some brick or material that matched the Sebo Center around the support poles that go into the ground.

Yeah...he respects them and said so prior to the game. You looooooooooooooove them and go out of your way to enumerate the many reasons that you loooooooooooove them.

It's the Journey... wrote:I think the board is a little to small to put up where the old ticker was. And we would not want it to get hacked again... I could see it up on the side of the Stroh Center advertising upcoming events. I could also see it on the inside of the Sebo Center showing other scores throughout the football game.

Or we could have it broadcast the activities in Transfer's office ala The Truman Show.....
BG has zoning laws against video/electronic signs. I don't know the specifics, but the issue was raised with the new signs at the fairgrounds (which are, in fact, not in the city limits.)

There's a limit on how quickly you can have signs change. Add that to the dozens of half-brained ordinances this town has.

Fairgrounds not within city limits?????? Maybe 50 years ago but city limits if BG on Poe Rd start at Layfette, which includes the birds subdivision. On Rt. 64 city limits start just north of the Community Center. If zoning plans show otherwise then people living in those area should complain. Maybe the zoning maps need to be updated. But the fairgrounds are within city limits.

Bowling Green has incorporated the area around the fairgrounds, but did not include the fairgrounds.

Kinda wierd that you vehemently defend your stance that the fairgrounds is within the city limits and then add a link to a map the clearly shows that is it not.

Last I saw, there is nothing to take a pic of. The old board is down and that is all.

Ohio law actually (Red Book.) Also the reason alcohol can not be sold on the fairgrounds. Plain Township is dry.

FYI, dad represented Plain Township on the fairboard for 18 years.

As for the video board, I imagine there won't be much work done until the weather is scheduled to be better. That's assuming, of course, the sign company probably has other jobs (warm) scheduled for winter time.

Who the heck puts a fairgrounds in a dry township?! Demolition derby without beer? Unnatural at best and an abomination at worst.
