Re: 2023 Offseason
The longer this off-season goes without an extension for the head coach, the better offseason we’re having. Let that contract run out, then shed it, then burn the shredding and then bury the ashes in a non-descript location within the old golf course.

Entire MAC schedule will be released on March 1st at 11:00am EST.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

It's possible they extended without announcing it.maskedopining wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 7:54 pm The longer this off-season goes without an extension for the head coach, the better offseason we’re having. Re: 2023 Offseason
If they already extended him, then I’d be cool with firing the new AD immediately.

I feel like this is a good decision tree to help an AD with coaching contract extensions:Tricky_Falcon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 11:58 amIt's possible they extended without announcing it.maskedopining wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 7:54 pm The longer this off-season goes without an extension for the head coach, the better offseason we’re having. If I sign this coach to a contract extension, can I announce it publicly without fear of backlash?
- If yes, it’s likely a decent decision, go for it if you want.
- If no, do not offer an extension, very bad idea.

Unfortunately, we're not accustomed to great decision-making here.

BGSU One Day is coming up. Call and ask. Tell them your donation is contingent on no extension being issued this offseason.Tricky_Falcon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 11:58 amIt's possible they extended without announcing it.maskedopining wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 7:54 pm The longer this off-season goes without an extension for the head coach, the better offseason we’re having. Re: 2023 Offseason
So is the Spring Game really this Saturday already, or was that a mistake? I’ve seen next to nothing posted about it, so if it’s really this weekend, it seems like they don’t want fans there for it. Anyone know more?

As a higher ed fundraiser, I beg you not to do this. If it hasn’t been announced, that means no one other than Loeffler, van der Merwe, and maybe one or twopdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 6:32 pmBGSU One Day is coming up. Call and ask. other people know what’s going to happen. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had people call and do this to me about someone they are unhappy with. We don’t know anything involving contracts. We’re just trying to bring in funds.

Re: 2023 Offseason
Yes, it's March 4th, and it's probably going to be held at the fieldhouse which will greatly limit how many people will be able to attend. The staff wanted spring ball to start earlier this year so the team could focus more on strength and conditioning from the spring into summer.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: 2023 Offseason
Zigg(y?)ing while everyone else zags? Interesting approach. I wonder if an added benefit of being so early is that there aren't other spring games to compete with, so maybe they can get recruits on campus to visit for the spring game that would've otherwise had a conflict. I have no idea where we are on the recruiting calendar right now (is a dead period or quiet period even still a thing with NIL?), but that was a thought that immediately came to mind.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 7:37 amYes, it's March 4th, and it's probably going to be held at the fieldhouse which will greatly limit how many people will be able to attend. Appreciate the update.

It’s simpler than that, and no behind the scenes 3D chess going on…. They don’t have enough bodies to have a competitive game, true spring.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

How many do they need? There are 86 players on the current roster.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 8:24 am It’s simpler than that, and no behind the scenes 3D chess going on…. They don’t have enough bodies to have a competitive game, true spring.
