I can't argue against a team that has Pope, Barnes and Sharon no matter who the QB is. I'm no Sheehan fan but let's be honest he got it done with far less.kdog27 wrote:Kdog27

I like my team other than I am a little weak in the Offensive Line Position compared to others. They were are all solid 3-4 year starters but none of them jump out at you. In my opinion I have the best player and leader at quarterback. I still think Cole Magner had an overall better career than Charles Sharon or Freddie Barnes. He brought versatility like no other player here I can remember other than Anthony Turner. Look up what Cole did in big games sometime, I use to joke that he should have been second team all big ten in 2003. Robert Redd was a stud for four years and caught a ton of passes before the spread offense came to BG. BJ Lane played behind Pope for most of his career unfortunately. If he hadn't I think he would have put up numbers somewhat close to him. I am perfectly fine with Josh Harris and BJ Lane in the backfield and in my opinion 2 of the top 5 receivers we have had here.
Defensively I took Khary Campbell first because as far as I know he is the only defensive BGSU player to spend a significant amount of time in the NFL. Most probably don't remember but Alex Glantzis was a really good defensive lineman and Devon Parks made an impact immediately in his Freshman season. My defensive backfield is speedy and ball hawking. We're not going shut anyone out but then again who is? And I just always loved Teddy Piepkow. He can play on any team of mine.
How crazy is it that we had a team that had Magner, Sharon, Sanders, Hawkins, Jarrett, McGrady, Pope, Lane, Harris and I'm probably forgetting someone else.
I have never thought Jacobs was anywhere near Harris overall. His numbers in 2004 were eye dropping but he had Sharon, Magner, Pope/Lane, and Sanders all on the field at the same time!
...I always liked Lane. Ended up with 1700 career rushing yards, 46 receptions and nearly 1000 kickoff return yards. Alls had 1500 carreer yards 28 receptions and about the same amount of kickoff return yards.
