Seriously I'm not a real fan either, but it does seem that nearly every graduating D1 player gets a shot in some camp somewhere. Remember most teams will sign 15-25 UDFAs to be camp fodder. Of those guys that get signed they know that 3/4 of them have no chance in hell of making the team, and the other guys will compete for maybe 1-2 roster spots.
Still they have to have more bodies to take the beatings of camp without making the starters take the total pounding.
I feel that many of our Falcons are developmental prospects in that they are quite capable of being competitive int he NFL, but in this moment are not of the same caliber as current pros and those player who are the exceptional first round first day players. to that end I believe that they could advance to the NFL after a season or two of NFL europe or CFL, but the money is great and it would seem the odds of making that transition, if your not asked to do it are hard.
On a side note on NFL net, they made mention of Omar. Said he could well be a great nfl QB if he lands in the right system, otherwise he could well drop out of sight.
I think Omar just got bad wrap with the media, i would be willing to be if Omar landed in on the right team and the starter droped he would make some believers real fast of his abilities.

its hard to believe isnt it. But not totaly, as i feel the spited Omar, his combine was better than cutler, and i think Omar has a more reallisitc to QB than Young and that like in the case of all the other MAC QBs they are just lowering him cause he is from the mac.
i firmly believe that former mac players could sue the BCS, and win for messing up the money they should have gotten in the draft...thus leading the way to a real Nat champ series ...but that is for another day.
And his biggest knocks last year were still that he was a system QB. His performance last year certainly doesn't do much to further the draft stock of other QBs from the Urban tree.
