'87, you may want to hit the hotels in BG anyway. There are always last minute cancellations, and if you are there ready to check-in, you get the room. They usually release the non-guaranteed rooms around 6-6:30, but the people with guarantees will call before that to cancel.
Might be worth a try.
Need help for our trip to BG (WMU game)!

Yeah I knew French Quarter was expensive, but you said you wanted the next best thingBGSUfanatUT wrote:I was going to say what hammb said, its a nice place. Corso, kirk, and fowler stayed there for gameday.
Did you try Findlay? I dotn know anythign there off hand, but there may be something worthwhile down there. PLus you can eat dinner at Ollers then, it looks like a condemed building but the food is awesome.
I don't think he'd want to drive from Toledo, through BG, all the way down to Findlay, at least I wouldn't. Then again, you are correct Oler's freakin' ROCKS! How does such great food come from a building that looks like it could fall over in a stiff breeze!?
Lord Byron:
Good call. I'll make a round of phone calls before we take off and see if we can make a quick switch! Right now, it's looking like Days Inn in P-burg.
hammb: Next best thing need not equal expensive thing! The great thing about traveling with Noah is that if there are snacks and drinks in the room with a TV, he thinks it's 5-star.
That being said, I know the little guy is going to be disappointed and I hate being the cause of that.

Not only that, it is in the middle of the Cooper Tire plant parking lot. any building there would look out of place, and then to look like this one does yet still serve the best Mexican food around is unbelievable.hammb wrote:Yeah I knew French Quarter was expensive, but you said you wanted the next best thingBGSUfanatUT wrote:I was going to say what hammb said, its a nice place. Forgot to mention the "Best Motel" at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 25, across from Home Depot on the south side of BG. Probably could get a room for about $30 a night, or maybe they rent by the hour there.

You better bring your checkbook. I hate the prices on things in the bookstore!1987alum wrote:"Can we still go to the bookstore before the game and get some Bowling Green stuff?"
He already has a list started!

No kidding! The only thing that I think had a fair price on it was the Wig I got, which was $7. Best investment ever.McMetz811 wrote:You better bring your checkbook. We are planning on staying there too for the OU game. I think we are going to stay Friday and Saturday nights and enjoy the HH sights on Sunday before heading back home. Try and find me Saturday at the tailgate and maybe we can work something out.Flipper wrote:That Days Inn is ok, but it's a little aged. You might want to try the hotels in Maumee right off of Salisbury road near Arrowhead park. Travelocity or AAA should have rate info. They have a ton of newer moderately priced hotels in the area and they are easily accessible to the freeway and the airport. A personal fav chain of mine from my traveling salesman days are the Amerihost Inns. They're always clean and they always have a pool.
I'm staying at one in Logan for the OU game...
EDIT: Logan Amerihost is all full...we will be staying in Lancaster instead...RATS!!
