Nice records in 02 and 03 but check their OOC games in those years. Snyder was notorious for playing creeeeeaaaammmmm pufffffssss. Not even good mid-majors we're talking the likes of Eastern Illinois, McNeese State, UMass, and Marshall . . . Marshall actually beat them in 03.
They were in the Big 12. They don't need to play a decent OOC schedule because there in conference schedule, full of teams that padded their schedule against creampuffs, is so very tough.

Year in, year out nearly every team in the Big12 schedules nobodies in OOC play. Snyder was just worse about it than the rest of 'em.

I'm sorry but 6 out of 7 seasons with 11 wins is a team that I would AT LEAST slot under the "good" category. I dont care if they played 2, 1-AA teams a year! How about those other 9 games? Oh and the year they lost to (8-4) Marshall their all everything QB El Roberson was hurt and their back up was garbage, so that was a total fluke!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I remember that SOB Snyder running up the score on BG in '97, 58-0. I sat thru that entire radio broadcast. Why? Have no idea.

Kansas State was up 37-0 after 3 quarters and BG had crossed midfield ONCE all day. BG ended up with 56 TOTAL yards of Offense while KSU had over 600. Snyder didn't take the starters out until there was about 2-3 min left in the game and Michael Bishop was still throwing the ball in the last 5 min. I heard Snyder came to the BG locker room wanting to shake hands with Coach Blackney and a few people had to restrain Blackney...he wanted to beat the crap outta him.

I'd love to get a shot at Kansas State now...too bad Snyder wouldn't be the coach. What an a**hole. Yeah he turned KSU around but until he did, KSU was the worst 1-A program in the country...thee worst.

During those 7 years, K-State played 28 OOC games... 5 of them were against 1-AA teams. I suppose multiple games against USC were cream puff games... and of course they won those. I cant believe they had those other joker OOC games like Ohio St, Iowa, and California. Especially with conference walk overs like Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas. Heck anyone could pull in back to back to back to back 11 wins seasons with creeeeeeammm puffffff scheduling like that.

What is he supposed to do? Take all his starters out and let BG score a couple of cheap TD's at the end to make the score look close? I mean he's battling for a national championship, I dont think he wants the score in the newspaper to look like he struggled with BG. Put the shoe on the other foot, 70-16 and 70-7 arent running up the score? I have nothing in the works for K-State, I just cant believe no one on this board can remember the last time KSU had even a "good" team.

Ok so I dislike K-State because I have friends from KU that have engrained it in to me they are no good. And after spending a weekend in Manhattan I can see why the place is held in such low regard by KU fans.

Off-season message board banter, gotta love it. Let's dissect that 2003 K-State ball club. Sure I'll grant they are in the Big XII and have tough foes and such but I'm looking at this 11-4 team and still reading between the scorelines and I am not sold on K-State.

2003 Results:

vs. California @Kansas City, MO WON 42-28
So they won a "neutral site" game- KC has a lot of KSU alums and it is a quick drive (3.5 hours at most) from campus to Arrowhead. Cal went 8-6 that year with losses at home to Colorado State and at Utah

TROY STATE WON 41-5
cream puff alert

MCNEESE STATE WON 55-14
SUPER cream puff alert, Troy at least puts guys in Da League

MASSACHUSETTS WON 38-7
SUPER cream puff alert, no word on whether Marcus Camby was in the game

MARSHALL LOST 20-27
"No. 6" KSU loses to Marshall, yeah no starting QB for KSU, but the backup was more than effective going 14-26 for 241 passing yards; heisman candidate Darren Sproles rushed for 77yds. and had 5 receptions for 50 yards. Not exactly like when BG lost Omar. The Wildcats just got beat by a mid-major Marshall squad. . . at home no less. Overrated, overhyped, and beat.

at Texas LOST 20-24
One of the tough luck Big XII game they have to play, a 10-3 Texas team that lost at home two weeks earlier to Arkansas and lost to Wazzou in the Holiday Bowl.

at Oklahoma State LOST 34-38
life on the road is tough, more so in a power conference like the Big XII the pokes went 9-4 in ought three

COLORADO WON 49-20
5-7 team with a tough schedule, want a tough OOC to go along with the Big XII slate? try a piece of Buff-Pie from 03- a brutal schedule that included rivalry game at mile high vs. Col. State, UCLA, Wash. State, and at Florida State

KANSAS WON 42-6
Andy Sahm is still breaking 60 yard runs against the Jayhawks, an ease in the rough Big XII schedule

BAYLOR WON 38-10
Baylor? ahhh the Northwestern of the Big XII

at Iowa State WON 45-0
Clones were undefeated, after 2 games edging IAA Northern Iowa 17-10 and knocking off Ohio U. 48-20, then they lost 10 straight including at Northern Illinois

at Nebraska WON 38-9
Huskers went 10-3 big road victory for Wildcats

MISSOURI WON 24-14
8-5 Pinkels had two wins against 1AA teams, with Brad Smith-J5-Lite

BIG XII CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
vs. Oklahoma @Kansas City, MO WON 35-7

"neutral" arrowhead plays well for the Wildcats

FIESTA BOWL @Tempe, AZ
Ohio State LOST 28-35

almost as close as the BG-OSU game from earlier in the season

All I hear all year long is how the 2003 Oklahoma team was THEE greatest football team of all time. Certainly many disagreed, as I did and I am sure you did. But there is no doubt that they were by far superior to everyone else they played that year and looked invincible. With El Roberson back in the line-up (even though you tried to somehow convince me that the back-up was good, and not like our Omar situation) and they WHOOPED Oklahoma 35-7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On a natural site my a**, OU had WAY more fans there because they were on their way to the perfect dream season! They STILL played in the NC game despite getting whooped, that how GOOD they were. But you must be right, coming on strong and beating one of the strongest football teams of this decade by 4 touchdowns away from home to grab their 11th win of the season does not make them a good team  , because they lost their great QB early in the season and lost to a hapless (8-4) MAC school  ! Just to show how much I'm dominating this arguement you even admitted that you dont like Kansas State at all, to where I have nothing for them or against them, I'm just glad my Boilers beat them the year they started 11-0 because it was a REALLLLLY GOOOOD win for PU's program!

I just watched "Who's #1" on ESPN and they had millions of people vote along with experts to create a list of the Top 20 greatest upsets in the history of college football! You know what thee number 1 greatest upset ever was? 2003 Kansas State Wildcats 35 Oklahoma Sooners 7. Nuff said other than, "when was the last time K-State was good?" ;-)

HaHaHa... I was at those games. We played everyone on the roster in those. Running up the score with starters is one thing but our 3rd and 4th stringers were scoring at will against Temple. Not a comparison there.

At temple a couple seasons ago I remember Todd Walker or maybe it was Brandon on the post game show saying they ran the same trap running play three times in a row for runs of like 8, 15, 22 for a TD.

I think PJ busted a long run right before halftime against Temple two years ago on a simple dive play when we were trying to run the clock out. Very similar to PJ's long run at the end of the first half against Western a couple years ago. I think Coach Brandon has done a pretty good job of not running up the score. Case in point is the Marshall game two years ago with the ball on the 1 with about 1:00. Everybody in the stadium wanted another TD, but we took a knee to end the game.
