That was my experience last year, too. The older Wisconsin fans were great almost to a man (or woman), the younger ones were...well, younger ones.
I wish knowing that experience that I had hung around and chatted with some of the older Wisky fans a little more, I had some good, albeit brief convos with them each of the last two years. But, with the rain and people coming in from all over at all different times, the afternoon kind of got away from us. I was kind of surprised how relatively small the Wisconsin side was from an attendance perspective. It seemed like they were ALL OVER downtown Saturday afternoon.
Oh, and despite UW's (deserved) title as a party school... BG *definitely* showed them a thing or two at the bar we hit after the game. (From what I remember, at least. )

There were also a few BG fans, I'm ashamed to say, that were assholes as well. They were not showing the BG class that we all know and have. They were yelling at the Wisconsin band right before Halftime when we were both on the sidelines trying to get to our respective spots for our shows. Keep in mind, I'm not trying to stick up for the Wisconsin band, I just hate to see BG students act like that.

We were in section 130 and had about 6 or 8 Wisconsin student/idiots screaming "Omar Jacobs" over and over. They kept yelling all kinds of crap through the first 3 quarters. At one point, we had a player down injured on the field and they broke into a chorus of "Shoot him like a horse!!" ....at which point BGFan turned around and yelled, "You guys REALLY ARE assholes, aren't you?" They kind of shut up after that. The security guys also came over and made them sit down. Wasn't too long after that that they all left. They were the ONLY Wisconsin fans who were idiots, the rest of them were fine.
I was sitting a few rows behind FF and BGFan, and these guys certainly did not shut up on their own. In fact, a couple of them were removed by event staff in the 4th quarter. Totally, totally classless. One of them actually called me a redneck and tried to pick a fight. For God's sake - someone from Wisconsin called me a redneck. Now THAT is funny!
Given the fact that these were the only Wisconsin fans that I had any interaction with, I was not impressed with how their university was represented at all.

The one problem I had all night was at the very end of the game. There was about 5 min left in the game and Teddy Piepkow came down to the railing to say hi J5 and Omar. Omar came up the steps after J5 got down and some jackass BOWLING GREEN fan yelled "Hey Omar, we'd have won this game if you were still here. Now you're out of a F*^$ing job!!!!" I about died. I turned around and told him to shut his piehole as that was totally inappropiate....as did every BG fan there. Sean O'Drobinak's dad was so ticked at this dude. Sean's dad is bigger than Sean...not a good guy to tick off. I think the idiot realized he was totally out of line and shut up but everyone could see the hurt on Omar's face from that comment. It makes me happy he's on the Steeler's practice squad.
As far as Wisky fans? No problems at all. Most of them are very cordial.

Fanatic...I was in section 130 as well. A couple of those guys were total jerks. A couple weren't bad. My biggest issue is they came to that section just to cause trouble. Most of what went on was fun and friendly, but toward the end of the game it went from fun to annoying.

I was standing right there as the bands crossed, and in our section is wasn't bad. People were high fiving and such, but I didn't hear anything bad. One guy acted like he was giving a high five and brought it back, but he was drunk and that was funny as hell. Overall, it was a great time. I think my g/f was talking to the people behind us and drinking more than she actually watched the game. I told her next time we go to a game that she is going to have to actually watch, because it screws me from watching the game trying to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid, lol. She said it was the most fun she's ever had, and her first college game, so I guess I should be happy. She will forever want to go to games with me now. Too bad we can't drink at the Doyt, it sure made for some fun.

Probably as they became more and more drunk!!! Hope they all had MASSIVE hangovers on Sunday!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

Lesson one: Beer looks a lot like A&W Cream Soda.
Lesson two: Rum can be mixed with just about any Soda.
Lesson three: Despite it not being a regular game, you may not bring cases of beer to the Spring Game with you.
Lesson four: Cargo pants and hoodies with a pouch can be used to smuggle at least a sixer in.
Lesson five: Five Gallon bucket, Hairy Buffalo, Tight Lid, drop over cheapo chain link fence, enter & retrieve bucket. (Bring cups)
Lesson six: If Lessons 1-5 fail, the Falcon club is always an option

You are welcome to accompany me as a guest I think they charge for guest entry now though.
Are you still a student? Not sure what their price levels are for students. We recent alumni can get in for $50.
Still a student..."a lot of people go to school for eight years." I'll have to look into that. We'll be tailgating Saturday after the JV game. Also, where is your brother going to school...JWU? What is that? I think I saw him driving outside of BG one day, I waved, he must not have recognized me.
