I never really "lost touch" with the athletics program, but once I moved to Columbus and started working weekends, I was left to look for a score every Saturday afternoon, and that was it. I made it to the UT game in '97, and was at the OSU game that same year, and that was it until the EKU game last year. I forget when I found the site for sure, but I know it was a few months before I started posting, and once I did, I was in deep. I think the "turning point" for me to pay this much attention to the program was the Northwestern win in 2001. I was just following scores while I worked at the OSU game that day, and seeing they were down anywhere from 14 to 21 with what must have been half the 4th quarter gone (it was the 4th for a LONG time according to the scores I saw), then to see ESPN roll across a 1 point win, I was hooked. Then a couple weeks later they embarrass UT at the Doyt, and I couldn't wait for the 2002 season to start! I began paying alot of attention then, but this site definitely made me want to get to more games, and know the names on the rosters, regardless of sport.

Thanks Schad!!Schadenfreude wrote:In fact, for the sake of argument, I'd submit AZZ.com has done as much to stir up interest in our program as anything else.
There was definitely a void back when I started the site as http://www.pepperguy.com/falcons (or something like that). I don't know if the University agrees with what you're saying, but I'm with you 100%. I KNOW how many people read this website and it's substantial! I would like to think that it HAS contributed to the growing interest in BGSU athletics in a positive way. I think it's hard to argue anything else.
The University has been guardedly helpful to me and to this site...I can understand their hesitation, but they have to see that the more people we get talking about BGSU athletics, the better it is for the programs in the long run!
Thanks to everyone for their support!!

It's probably a good minute's worth of text.

That was a horrible stand-up. There would ahve been SOOOOOOOO many better places to do it. How about at one of the stadiums, COSI, a restraunt some where besides a bathroom. That took me out of the story. I'm not bashing, because the basic story was pretty good, but teh stand-up should not over ride the story
Being into video myself, I will have to agree. While it was creative, it was not really suitable for a message board story. Maybe something else like bathroom stall abuse would work for itSICSICsez wrote:That was a horrible stand-up. There would ahve been SOOOOOOOO many better places to do it.
