Really? Should be better? Or could be better? Or we'd all be happier if we were better?
I was thinking about this the other day. After witnessing the U@Buff game I was quite prepared for a let down at FIU. Yes they are among the bottom 10 and lumped with the likes of FAU, Temple, as far as how good they are. So after the Kent game I was thinking, what if we lost the FIU game, got handled like we have in the past at USF and UCF, then turned around and beat Kent. We'd still be 2-2, but would people be so upset? Don't really know, but I was thinking about it.
Get over the Kent loss. Move on. I did about 1/2 hour after the game because it does me no good to worry about over throws or blown coverage or poor tacklking- I am not a coach, I can't correct it from the internet even if I was.
I think hanging with Wisconsin and then a nice two QB attack at FIU got our hopes up a bit, but looking back to posts around here in June the one that sticks out is 87's take on what would surprise him. . . and what wouldn't.
We are in a rebuilding year. We have put the seeds down to have some good things happen soon- Sebo, Freddie Barnes, even SHeehan and the other true freshman out on the field. This team is not ready to be a great or even good team...yet. It is .... promising. There will be shades of good things.
Now, where I can see grounds for being upset is the continual appearant slide of the fundamentals and lack of half time adjustments that are being made.
Whoever said this season would be 'interesting' was spot on. . .
