Browns scout.com site saays Browns had two QBs (Rohan Davey and J.T O’Sullivan) in today for try outs. Man no one must see anything in Omar.

I think his success here was greatly due to the receivers around him. I doubt the receivers he had to throw to in 2004 will ever be duplicated at BSGU. Magner, Sanders, Sharon, McGrady (i think), Hawkins, and Pope. It does not get any better than that in the MAC. In 2005 he had Sanders, Sharon, and Pope when he was not hurt. There was a great fall off from 2004 because he did not have possesion receiver. In 2004 he was able to avoid blitzes without any probelm because he had Magner, Pope, and Mcgrady as 3rd-5th options. All of his flaws were revealed in the second half of the Wisconsin game and thereafter. He was great when he had someone to throw to but he would crap his pants with the least bit of pressure.

Just my opinion after watching differences between him in the 04 and 05 season. I never saw him in any of the preseason games so I can't say anything about those.

The complexity of the average NFL offense is too much for Omar right now. Perhaps in time he'll be able to show he can handle it.

The Steelers released St. Pierre. I am no Steeler fan, so I don't follow their news at all. But it seems that most teams carry three QBs somehow. Either all on the active roster or two active and one on the practice squad. If I am not mistaken, the Steelers only have Roethlisberger and Batch now. So maybe this opens the door for the Steelers to bring Omar back on the practice squad.

I wouldn't bet on it. The Steelers have been hit by the injury bug a little, especially at linebacker and OL. This move will probably be for depth at one of those positions.

This is probably an insane question, but if Omar doesn't sign with a team for NFL-E or, less probable, on an active roster, is it possible to re-enter the draft next year?

I thought I had heard that option was available to Magner this year but that may have been because he was free agent signee.

Man, I hope that isn't his plan...

Why? He is a free agent right now. I can't think of a reason to reenter a draft.

Not sure. If you are drafted and don't sign you can reenter the next year's draft. Omar signed, however, and was then cut. I cannot imagine why he would reenter the draft. He is a FA now, who would take him in the draft when he could be had for a few thousand bucks?
