Where was Louisville prior to John L Smith? Where is Louisville now? Where is BG now? where would you like Bg to be?
Like Hammb said he may not be anyones first choice, that does not mean we should ignore a man who has already done exactly what we want someone to do here.

I don't think we could afford either of those guys...they're not even on my radar. I know we'll be with Brandon for the forseeable future, so I'm not even worrying about it at this point.
Ideally we'd find a BG alum or something that wants to be here for awhile, but I think that's probably a pipe dream.
I would much rather go through coaches like Urban Meyer, guys looking to make the next step, than settle for a mediocre coach who is happy here. It's tough to find the next great coach over and over again, but I'd prefer to try that than settle for mediocrity.
The ideal situation is that we hit it again with an Urban Meyer like up and comer and we get a guy like DJ Durkin to develop under him for awhile.
Good idea, a high-profile coach like Mariucci would definitely bring in the more talented recruits probably equal to Ohio State and give DJ Durkin a chance to learn under a coach that has had success at all levels. If marriuci though another notaeable coach would help.
HE CANT COACH! He was horrible at Cal. The 49er team was a veteran team led by Rice and Young. We saw what happened in Detroit. Mariucci is a figure head. He got good talent in detroit and couldnt win. Where has Mariucci ever proven his ability to be an efficient head coach?
