Rolling left made sense if you were setting up to kick from there...but we ran two plays to the middle and burned out last TO so we couldn't just roll left, look in the end zone and if nothing's there turn it upfield for whatever yardage you can before calling time to kick from the one spot on the field where your kicker had a chance to plant his foot solidly.
If you'rer playing for a TD, go for the TD. If you're playing for a FG, play for the FG. That last series of plays inside the 10 didn't seem to be aimed at doing either under the circumstances...

And fortunetly Shannon will still be calling for pass plays to your TE on 4th and 2 next year! Woo hoo look for BG to rout the Michigan Wannabees next year at The Doyt!! Seriously you've go their colours, why would you also enhance the look-a-like-ness by slapping a Varsity T Club (read M Club) banner as you run out on the field? That woudl be like the BG band dotting the "i" in Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba!!!!

UT...I wouldn't be so happy to have Toledo Tom around next year. The problems UT is facing this year are largely his fault. He's recruited a bunch of marginal kids that blew out leaving a squad of freshmen and sophmores to step in. He hasn''t exactly been the strictest disiplinarian either...you don't suppose that could be the reason for the Rockettes sloppy, undisciplined play this year, do you?
I have some doubts about our coaching staff, but I have some doubts about yours too...

I think we had terrible clock management there at the end of the game. But there was still like 35 seconds left for the third down play. Even if Turner does just tuck and run, there was plenty of time left to trot Ellis out there for the FG attempt. I honestly don't think Brandon knew Ellis would have preferred kicking from the left hash. And that is utterly unacceptable, especially on a night like this when weather/field conditions are huge. The coach has got to get the ball where the kicker is most comfortable attempting the kick.Flipper wrote:Rolling left made sense if you were setting up to kick from there...but we ran two plays to the middle and burned out last TO so we couldn't just roll left, look in the end zone and if nothing's there turn it upfield for whatever yardage you can before calling time to kick from the one spot on the field where your kicker had a chance to plant his foot solidly.

In honesty, I'm kinda glad that we didn't win this one, because if we had, it would have been the MAC refs' fault again. That offsides call on fourth down was downright rediculous, just as bad if not worse than the call on Ruiz last week. It's never good to steal games like that.
Well, look for the Battle of I-75 to be quite a pillow fight.

You and the ESPN crew are mixed up about the offsides. Our WR was on the line, not offsides. The WR outside of him actually lined up about 5 yards off the line, which is more than usually. The CB covering him had moved up too far. It was right in front of the ref who made the call. The CB was offsides and the ref threw his flag right at the snap.bgsufalcon24 wrote:In honesty, I'm kinda glad that we didn't win this one, because if we had, it would have been the MAC refs' fault again. Maybe I'm crazy, but the CB didn't appear to be anywhere close to the LOS to me when they showed the replay. The ref wasn't even lined up with the ball. The CB was offsides and the ref threw his flag right at the snap.

I thought Miami's right DE was the one who was lined up offsides. That is what it looked like to me. Guess it really don't matterWarthog wrote:You and the ESPN crew are mixed up about the offsides. I agree with you Flip, no doubt neither side has any room to talk... but thats gonna make for a real "exciting" week of smack talk dont ya think?Flipper wrote:you know TJ....I think fans of both schools need to just shut the f**k up this year. We both suck ...talking smack when we have fewer wins between us than BGSU had all on it's own back in 2003 (against far better opposition) is a little bit like seeing a dog fight between a Pomeranian and a Pekinese. It's a bit pathetic, no?
A decent team would throttle our combined squads...

They showed two different replays, neither of which (to me) appeared to be from directly across the field. Upon first glance, it looked to me like what Warthog described. Our wide-out closest to the sideline was WAY off the line and the CB moved up so far that he was offsides.San Diego Falcon wrote:Maybe I'm crazy, but the CB didn't appear to be anywhere close to the LOS to me when they showed the replay. Again, just my take on it, but it's all said and done now, I guess.

Did Stone actually say that Ellis likes the left hash or was he merely stating that the left hash was a better option because it wasn't pure mud around the 15 yard line on the left hash?Tricky_Falcon wrote:If Rob Stone, the sideline reporter knows what hash Ellis likes kicking from why doesn't our coach?
