Are you a patron of mediocre performance? Have you heard of Tim Tebow (Fla), Mike Mustain (Ark), Chris Wells, Juice Williams (Ill.) or Damian Williams (Ark). These are just a few true freshmen who play and are prepared to play. Their coaches are able to adjust their systems to put these athletes into situations where they and the team can succeed. The BG staff is trying to put 'square pegs' in 'round holes' and they don't have enough sense to realize it. You can't get water from a rock no matter how much you pound it and try to make into something it is not, take the rock add some water and a few chemicals and you have usable concrete. Again just adjust and modify what you have to accommodate a system that requires the pounding of rocks.orangeandbrown wrote:There are very few HS Seniors ready to contribute as true freshmen against ANY D1 competition, and they're at USC, OSU, etc.
The coach always says “we are staying the course”, does he realize that the program is on the same course as the Titanic? Hopefully the coaches will get it together for Tuesday night’s game, if we loose to the team up north I’m very afraid that I may have to get on the ‘fire the coach’ wagon..

I don't know Overstreet, so I cannot speak for his credibility. I do know that some of what he has posted is very disturbing. I have no reason to disbelieve him either, as this team has LOOKED like a coaching staff that has lost the team.Falconfreak90 wrote:Posts like this always make me go hmmmm.....
The only cure for that is, as we all know, a coaching change. Unfortunately, I don't think we're in a position to do that. Brandon will be back next year, we can only hope that he actually does grow.

I'm here at BG and my credibility or motives should not be the question, Hmmmm.... Just look at the facts and the program for the last 2 years. Don't let my rantings determine your opinion, just look at the numbers and facts, they don't lie, at least that’s what I learned in statistics..Falconfreak90 wrote:Posts like this always make me go hmmmm.....

Well, that's my problem. I got a D in statistics and was lost from Day 3 in the course. But I gladly took the D and got the credit for the class.Overstreet23 wrote:I'm here at BG and my credibility or motives should not be the question, Hmmmm.... Now this was 20 years ago but I know I almost flunked that course.

Temple is also playing 15+ true freshmen that are not USC caliber. Coaching and organization can do a lot. The more amazing figure to me is the amount of redshirt freshmen that are seeing significant time *combined* with the true freshmen.
We have had a steady talent drain from the program, many of whom are now associated with professional football, that have not been adequately replaced up to this point.
We need these players to develop much faster and the coaching staff to coach them much better, particularly considering the degree to which the dregs of the conference have improved themselves.
