I thought the title of this thread was Brandon expects a 3-way between his quarterbacks. God, am I glad I was wrong. Whew!

Flipper, all I want him to do is just once say, "I F***ed UP!"

I want him to admit that it was his fault our recruiting forced us to play so many freshman in one season.

I want him to admit that it is his fault proper emphasis is not put on special teams play.

I want him to admit that it is his fault we have gone from one of the premiere teams in the MAC to an also ran in a mere 4 years!
That's silly.

I can't imagine a coach anywhere in football saying these things.

Keep hoping if you like, but you might as well hope for a new domed stadium... or for Bush to admit his decision to invade Iraq was a horrible mistake.

I can't either.....but, I would like to see the coaching staff included in the litany of things that need improvement more frequently. We know we're young, we know we played a game on a sub standard field. We know we didn't have a bye week, we know that slacker Corey Partridge didn't step up until we played a QB that can throw 10 yards ( ).,

Let's compromise with "Coaching so many young players is a challenge...there's times we could have handled that challenge better as coaches. As we all gain experience and improve together, we should be in a position to return to the top of MAC"

"Oh yeah, and don't forget our kicker sucked most of the year, so it's not really my fault our special teams play was horrendous."

Brandon's never going to say the things we need to hear. It's just not in him.

I've seen plenty of coaches take accountability when things don't go right. Yeah, I don't expect him to use the same words that I used, but I expect some amount of self searching and realizing that he is, at hte very least, PART of the problem.

For instance, it would be perfectly acceptable for a coach to say something like, "Looking back on the season it is clear that we didn't put the proper emphasis on special teams. Going forward we need to look at what we've been doing wrong and try to get our players in better positions to make plays." That is perfect coach speak and would be perfectly acceptable. Instead we get, "Our Freshman kicker wasn't kicking the ball into the endzone. If he gets it in the endzone we aren't even talking about the coverage."

I have no problem with coachspeak. That's what coaches do. What I have a problem with is constant excuse making and sounding like a whiny little girl. I've heard plenty of coaches admit that they've been outcoached, but I don't see that with this group. I have NEVER heard a coaching staff talk about their team the way this head coach does.

This started years ago, and it's only gotten worse. When we were winning we still had glaring flaws as a team, and all we'd hear on the radio was, "Well we must've done something right because we won," this coach has never known the proper way to talk to the media. His interviews are constantly undermining his authority on the team, and in times of losses he regularly calls out players; many times young players.

If the AD is intent on letting this guy keep his job, which seems to be the case, he should at least sit down with him and teach him how to conduct himself in an interview.
