Boise State and Toledo will be sellouts no questions asked.
There should be good crowds, but I wouldn't bet on a sell-out. We didn't sell out the Toledo game in 2005 when we were playing for a spot in the MACC.

turner had best not be our qb next year, he demonstrated nothing this year.
we should suck it up now and go with a youthful new hope.

Just say NO to field turf.

Yeah...that old man Turner is washed up. We should try those kids that are a good two years younger. Youth must be served!

Boise State WILL be a sell-out. I don't see any way it isn't.

As for the Toledo game in 2005, the only places where the stadium wasn't packed were the top corners near the end zone line on the east side. If it wasn't a sellout it was damn close to it!

I believe the attendance for the 2005 Toledo game was only about 17,000. I agree it looked much more crowded than that. There have been many threads on here about how our attendance always looks higher than the announced attendance (people may spread out more when they don't have to squeeze together like sardines).

The Boise game will be early in the season. Nice weather, no possibility of a long string of depressing losses preceding it, big name opponent. Let's hope it is played on a Saturday. That game will be a good test to see just how much general college football interest exists in NW Ohio when the name "Ohio State" isn't involved.

I would love to see at least two sell outs next season. I know the wife and I will be purchasing season tickets. Here is a thought that might address two problems. We have trouble selling/getting butts in the seats. Why not contact the local boy scout troops to help serve as ushers for the games? Put the regular guys on the main level but every so often up the stairs have a scout there to help out. My troop did this twice a year at Ohio Stadium and they still do it. We still had to purchast the tickets, out troop/council purchased them for us. That sells more tickets and gives the regular ushers a little help with big crouds. The scouts can sit up in those corners that are never filled. Perhaps the athletic department can throw in some pizza for them before the game. There is one solution to help get attendance up.

Ohio State plays at Minnesota that day. No excuses for the casual fan to head to Columbus to partake in the festivities. Should be a great day of football at the Doyt! :D

Who? i don't recall this at all. Generally, even our good classes are rated low.

scout.com had us #1 last year...One or two magazines tabbed us #1 in 2004..I am too lazy to go look which ones. I dont think anyone ever rates us "low". Middle of the pack is the worst I've seen since around 2002.

I hope those "#1" recruiting classes finally show their true potential and have learned something from last season. It is make or break for Brandon. I still support him but if he can't win with the players we have coming back, there will be a lot of grumbling in the BG world.

I think falconboy.com ranked those classes as low (something about not enough size...)

That being said, I support Flipper's general premise - this season will tell the story about where this program is headed. I don't think I'd go so far as to drop to I-AA, but Christopher has to determine what changes are necessary to make us a consistent, top-flight MAC program and then move us in that direction.

don't forget how many players have left the program from that 2004 class and a lot are leaving that are in the 2006 class, a lot that haven't gone public yet i can tell you that. they hate our coaching staff. a lot of players don't understand the position choices like moving aaron davis to linebacker when players have told me he was a good reciever.

The schedule looks great! I hope Boise doesn't drop us, though. As for the turf. I love the grass. The Miami game last year was due to horrible weather. However, most games the grass looks fantastic. I think the grounds crew does a great job.
