it like this...it was a venting...but then again maybe it should not be.
There is no point in changing our logo to look like the redhwk logo...
there needs to a level of consistency like the name of the school. we could for the same reason as changing the logo change the name of the school Black Swamp State University. why not change the name of our state while we are at it... we could just as easily rename the stadium to " Were great some years and good others Stadium...when we add field turf, because we have forgotten how to pound the ball.
my point is this...there is just no good reason to even attempt to change our logo...esp to some god awful knock off. then to want to change the unis to better adapt a bad logo is worse...I really dont even see why have wasted money changing up the unis as much as we have they dont improve our game play, and many of them have not looked very good, in fact I would say the Athletic Dept should really think about cutting that persons job and putting the money to better uses.
The falcon logo is simple to the point and easily identifiable there is no reason to make a bad logo that looks like other new bad logos that will not be easily identifiable, just as there is reason to put the band out there in pink daisy dukes.

I have no problem with your opinion of the logo. I do have a problem with the offensive way you chose to express that in your info/avatar.MACMAN wrote:it like this...it was a venting...but then again maybe it should not be.

I don't have any problem with this "gay" issue. In my lifetime, gay has (so far) meant three things:
1. Until about age 10-11, gay meant happy. Happy, jolly, frivolous. Simple as that.
2. Throughout my teens, gay predominantly came to mean "gay" as most of us associate the word, although I had to remember, as a literature student, that gay also meant happy in its historical context, as in 1.
3. During the last year, the txt generation uses gay to express something completely different. Probably because it only needs 3 keystrokes on a phone pad. I can't easily define this new meaning, although I used "gay" in another thread yesterday where Falcon30 posted a photo striking a pensive pose, perhaps either as Isaac Newton or Robin Hood, and I called the trailer that he was standing by "well gay" because it was completely inadequate to carry the rather large bales of hay in the picture that it might have been there to move.
If I didn't like the logo Macman thinks is gay, I could see myself describing it just so too, not because I thought the logo was sexually oriented, but because it was "naff" compared to the original logo.
I like the term "gay", or even "well gay" in its 21st century context a lot more than I like "naff", and since I haven't stated my inclination re: logos, I will now. I like the "old" logo most. I don't dislike the retail logo, but if I felt less ambiguously about it than I do, I would probably think it was indeed "well gay", because otherwise I would have to call it "naff".
Webster's and Oxford English probably wish the world would make its mind up what gay means.

I understand your point but I don't think it's mainstream enough to be considered acceptable.Zom wrote:
