a pun on Liar.

Zulu, I 100% agree with you. Yeah he made me mad when he left, but honestly, I NEVER hated him. Not once. He put up on the map. he pulled us from teh stoneage and into the future. He is the reason that we are where we are today. When a team offers you 500k (4 times your current salary) and its not a step down, you take it. I doubt anyone here would turn that down if they were UM. I dotn blame him 1 bit. When he said he wasnt leaving, I believed him, and still do. He has every intention to stay when he said that. It was afte rhe said that when Utah offered him the job. He never lied to us, the events jsut happened so fast that it seemed more underhanded than it was.

I was as mad as anyone else when he left, but I will NEVER forget what he did for this program.

While so many people have been singing the praises of the current staff and been complaining about Meyer, I have been one of the few that still believes we'd be far better off if he were still here. The current staff is acceptable, but Meyer was exceptional. If you watch Utah they play football, like a well oiled machine. That's from coaching. The things he did wrong here, he seems to have fixed. Some forget he was still young & immature as a coach here at BG, but he has definitely learned from his mistakes.

He's one of the top 3 coaches in all of college football, and you can bet your behind I'm rooting for Utah. I want Urban Meyer to be the best coach in the land, and then when he's getting all the pub people can point back to BG! :)

I was mad at the way Urban left BG but I think it is great that Utah is having such a successful season and that if they keep winning that they BCS boys will have to put them in a BCS bowl whether they like it or not. I think Utah's success gives other non-BCS teams something to strive for.

Hammb - I completely agree with you. You hit it right on the head. I too was not happy with the way he handled the departure but I accept it now as he is a big reason why we are considered a significant force in the MAC.

As I sit back and ponder this, Meyer had Krebs ear and continued to tell him that BG needs to improve the facilities to help push this program to the next level (scoreboard, SAC, etc...). Krebs, I think, has/had a ton of respect for Meyer and listened to his plan. I give props to Krebs and Brandon too as they saw what Meyer saw and are still following the plan. Now we can enjoy our continuing success and watch our facilities improve each and every year.

Also, Meyer won't forget his days at BG. Wherever he ends up, he will always consider scheduling BG for a non-conf game. That my friends is cool.

I totally agree as well hammb....didn't like the way he left but he was hardly the first coach to leave a school in that manner.

I've been following Utah and watch them every time they're on the tube...and they look UNSTOPPABLE. I hope they crash the BCS in a big way. If Urban hadn't come here, Coach Brandon wouldn't be here!
Meyer is gonna be at a BCS school very soon and at this point, I wish him nothing but the best.

Coach Brandon is da man....and he is building on the foundation Meyer put in place. Sure beats the hell outta 3-8, 4-7, 2-9. :vom: :vom:

You know, I think all of us have the same feeling on Meyer, and I have chosen to concentrate on the state of our program as it is today, and what they can do to get even better. I know that we have Meyer to thank, but he has been gone for almost two years now, and everyone is happy with the way our team is STILL playing, and the people in Utah are happy with their team, so I say, let Meyer possibly say one thing and do another to Utah if he wishes, and let's just say thank you for turning our program around, but we are capable of doing bigger and better things without you.
