Personally, I think the brown jerseys are the best thing we have going. I'm a fan of the orange, because it stands out visually (although, granted, it doesn't stand apart from other orange teams), but the brown just looks better to me.

I thought everyone had agreed on brown jerseys a long time ago....
Schad has a hole in one on this topic. If you have to mess with the classic look, then you have to tear up the form book. Here's a radical one - let's call it the "harlequin". You alternate colours, so that where the front left is brown, the right back is brown, or maybe orange. Or, instead of splitting the front of the jersey into two coloured panels, you would have four, ditto the back. Here's a two panel option I've "gimped" onto a rugby jersey to give you an idea. I guarantee distinction to rival Oregon..

i wonder how many avid supporters of the brown jerseys are also browns fans? not that it has anything to do with anything just curiousity
now, as for why we shouldnt use them much....
they're boring
they're bland
they look cheap ... further pushing the idea of the MAC being the lower echilon of ncaa division IA football.
and for the biggest reason:
watching the wisky game at home with some friends - trying to convert more people to bg fans i think almost everyone said "why'd u guys use the browns uniforms" or "is the browns wisky game back on? haha" now...I know they got the colors from us, YOU know they got the colors from us...but nobody else does! and unless we run a disclaimer every game people will still think we're just ripping off the browns. all this talk of tradition doesnt mean anything. anyone can make any nostalgic thing "tradition" we could say ALOT of stuff is tradition. i could say that having a beer after my last friday class is tradition but nobody would know it but me. get the idea? we've changed our uniforms many times, there is no tradition with the uniforms. teams like michigan or ohio state (this has nothing to do with them its an example...lets not get into a bash the big program fit here) that have never made any big changes to their uniforms can claim tradition with more validity then we can. i say we need to update and polish or image, and using what looks like low budget rip offs of a more well known team's uniforms to everyone who doesnt know the history (which is most ppl) isnt the road to take here. the brown jerseys are FINE for what they are...alternates. if they become our main jersey then i will be EXTREMELY disapointed.
luckily besides the nostalgia fans on here i think ive noticed more who are fans of our current uniform set up.

hey everyone! i'm a moron!
The only school in the Mac, maybe even the country, who would use the harlequin is Miami oh. It looks like something straight out of GQ.
I am a pure traditionalist, and a pure Brownsfan. I would love nothing more than for the falcons to use the same exact uniforms as the Browns. The ties between the university and the browns have more than enough history to make that a really awesome change. Completely simplistic, yet the best in all of pro football. The only difference between the two would be the athletic logo on the side of the helmet instead of the plain striped helmet. I wish with all of my herat and spirit that things could work out this way.

You must not have been around for the all orange look - a look I personally despise.jeebus wrote: they're boring

You and I are on the same wavelength.Flipper wrote:At home, brown jerseys with white pants...maybe an old school orange piping up the side of the legs.
On the road, white jerseys and orange pants...maybe all white if we want to scare the crap out of the other guys by making them think our players are ghosts
I actually think our brown home jerseys are a bit better than those of the Cleveland Browns. The white shoulder stripe is a bit more contemporary than what the Browns have (we had the same shoulder action in the '80s).
Adding a touch of orange to that white shoulder stripe might answer the bland complaint a bit. But they are good right now.
I personally think the brown jerseys with the white pants was a good look for home. For away, I have a severe dislike for the orange on white look. I think the all white looks much better.
