"Right now we're trying to find a schedule that fits," Christopher said. "Who it ends up being is second almost to something that fits with the broader schedule we're trying to put together."
"We're" trying to find a schedule that fits? "Broader" schedule "we're" trying to put together? We? We? We?

Someone tell this guy that BGSU is its own entity. BGSU is NOT a subsidiary or division of the MAC. You are not Chryst's divisional chief of Wood County operations.

I sort of understood him getting a pass last year with the attendance issues, but this is now all on his watch.

This conference is a joke. The officiating is a joke. Unfortunately the biggest joke of all appears to be our AD, Greg Christopher. Greggers appears to think serving the interests of the conference comes before taking care of his athletes and coaches.

He's playing Lester while Rick Chryst gets to be Willie Tyler...

Leave it to Flip!!! This might be his ALL TIME classic that is posted today on the MACbbs, with picture!!!! and it si SO true!!!

As a student this infuriates me as it does with everyone of you guys. We need an AD that is willing to put his foot down in cases like this. Sometimes I think that those that be at the MAC offices don't want BG to be competitive for fear that we might actually get good enough to be offered a spot into another conference. BG needs someone who won't let us get reamed like this just because other schools can't schedule. I'll be at the home games regardless of who we play, but like what others have said on here, if we end up scheduling a D-IAA team that isn't from around here, I won't want to hear any kind of complaining about from Christopher about attendance issues. But if it turns out that we end up scheduling a D-IAA team, I sure as hell hope that they go with a team from around BG to hopefully get some locals to show up.

Temple....

Post by Falconboy »

It almost sounds like Temple joinging the Mac is screwing with us. Why did we accept Temple without either getting rid of a school or adding a 2nd school to give us an even numbered conference. Anyone think of this before we decided to allow Bill Cosby University to join the Mac?

Once again, our AD is a mere puppet at the hands of Chryst. He's young, with no experience, and lets the MAC walk all over him. Granted, any job at BG is just a stepping stone. However, our AD needs some balls! Can't play any sport but hockey without 'em.

One of the responsibilities of being a member of a conference is playing by the conference rules. I am not defending the AD, but there were many who were not sure at all about Paul Krebs when he got here. Look how he turned out. The problems we are having as a conference with scheduling and officiating are our (the conference membership) own fault. Things will stay as they are until the Athletic Directors and University Presidents step up and do something. None of us know if that is or is not happening behind closed doors. I would like to think that it is, but none of us can say for sure. We can push for change to happen from within, or we can just leave the conference. I would like to push for change from within. As much as we talk about being screwed over in scheduling and officiating now, it will be much worse as an indipendant. Look at Northern Illinois.

It seems to me that the MAC helped us land our two game series with Wisconsin. I'm not sure about that, but this is my impression.

If so, then I suppose we have to take the good with the difficult.
