With an average take of about $400,000 per road contest.... the athletic budget has to feel pretty good going into next fall... and in addition... the windfall if Boise is kept on the schedule will be quite nice as well... say... $25/ticket... 20,000 tickets... thats 500K.... plus concessions and such.. not to shabby... 6K seats are left for students.

I know there are those who are dissapointed with a trip to East Lansing, but for my own selfish reasons it's like Christmas come early!!!!! I just hope we play well or I'll never hear the end of it! Can hardly wait until September 9th! Go BG!

even though its on the road, to play michigan state is pretty cool. i guess theres some kind of unofficial deal between the MAC and Big 10 where they're going to play more games with one another from now on.
for example, ohio state has games with akron, toledo, and ohio in the next few years.

That's all part of OSU's commitment to playing in-state schools that's gone back to '92, but yeah, I think I've heard (or maybe it's just become more apparent) of more MAC-Big 10 matchups.

Bourbon,

I already told the Freaklings we are making the trip for this game. I've wanted to see BG play MSU for a while now. I can't wait since Minny and BC, if these games are played, are out of the travel plans in 2007.

The Falcons haven't played there since 1981, I don't think (if memory serves, it was a 10-7 loss). I've never seen a game there. I'm going to make this trip, and I'm really excited about it.

They will be breaking in a new staff with new offensive and defensive schemes, so that should work to our advantage. Dantonio runs one of the most conservative offenses in all of college football and will be breaking in a new QB, so expect tons of rushing attempts.

We'll see early on how our front 7 can hold up.

Who knows how much our schemes will change, but we're breaking in a whole new staff too.

A lot of the players around the dorm have said that we should expect a lot more diversity in our offense this year. GB heard loud and clear the message the fans were sending about knowing every play he was calling. With Barnes and Partridge at WR and 2-3 quality rushers on the team, the QB (no one seems to have any idea who that will be right now) will have some more stable places to go with the ball this year.

I guess what I'm saying is that the team seems to believe that there won't be anymore of this crap of fans being able to call the plays from the stands before they happen.
Yeah right girl!

It appears as though BG is replacing WMU on the Spartan's schedule.

http://msuspartans.cstv.com/sports/m-fo ... 07aab.html
Bowling Green replaces Western Michigan on the Spartans' 2007 schedule. The change was made at the request of the Big Ten and to assist conference officials in resolving other scheduling issues between league institutions and other Mid-American Conference opponents. The home game originally scheduled with Western Michigan will be rescheduled in either 2009 or 2010. The Falcons will be making their first trip to Spartan Stadium since 1981. The Spartans have won 13 straight and 20 of the last 22 meetings against MAC teams.
Interesting. WMU would have won that game.

I hope we can get a good crowd up here! I know it's probably not the scene you're looking for with the youngsters but there is a great bar in downtown Lansing called Rum Runners. Upstairs they have dueling pianos that take requests! (If anyone has the sheet music to Ziggy Zoomba I'd love to take it up to them the Friday before the game). They usually do the fight song challenge and yes...even up here in in the heart of UM and MSU, tOSU wins some nights. :vom: I know it's really early, but as the date gets closer and anyone wants some info on the bar scene I'd be happy to help. I know Lansing a little better than East Lansing, though.

Maybe the Michigan State payoff will allow us to fire our coach a year early.
