What ever happened to just breakin up fights and movin on???
Ive only been in one fight in my life. I was eight and it was my bestfriend at church. If my current gf or just dumped me ex gf was "huggin" on some dude she has a history with im probably going to get in a fight. We dont know the history here with parks, this is one of the few situations I say go do what you gotta do and deal in the morning.

Well, I guess some people just don't like getting assaulted. Go figure. Why? I don't know-ask that kid from the CMU bar fight a couple years ago. Oh, wait-you can't-he's dead.jeebus wrote:im not agreeing with fighting, but what ever DID happen to just breaking up fights? it bugs me that everything these days involves 2 miles of paperwork and a night in jail. in the old days...not even that old of days...the police would break up the fight, maybe throw someone in the drunk tank and thats that. now there's law suits, charges pressed etc etc even if nobody's hurt. they make fights...which aren't a new phenom. by any means out to be some terrible malicious thing. bar fights are not new folks...in my home-town the irish and germans would go to their side by side bars and at the end of the night beat the hell out of each other. if there was as much "law" involved then as there is now, they'd still be building the canals.
i just think things like drunk & disorderly, public intox, fist fights and what not are overly prosecuted these days

Honest question here, MACMAN. In a thread a couple of days ago you were saying how it would be no big deal if some of the hockey players got involved in a bar fight (or something to that effect). Were you kidding then, or do you seriously see some difference here? If one of the icers roughed some guy up at a bar, would you still call for him to be kicked off the team?MACMAN wrote:please give me abreak on this
BF, GF what ever it means squat. ITs a testing period and you should look around and if see something els you move on...and if you get moved out from or if your the mover oner its no reason to act like skippy the punk...this kid is emotionally challanged and in this current state has no place onn a football field because he will obviously think that when the coach says were goin to war out there...he will think he could die and will likey wet himself.
Nope, no matter this is NOT WORTH fighting over, and he should be off the team for being a juvinal, immature dumbass!
thanks for embarasing the program more than the punt formation...realy aprecate that kid. just great...your a dozen short of a 12 pack
...or, and this is always a possibility, did I get confused somewhere along the line and misinterpret something?

Funny thing is that when you say they were "having fun tonight". I was picturing some kind of bar room brawl. Oh well. Shows where my mind is.
I interpreted his comment on the hockey forum the same way you have. I think he called you a weenie too. if there's somekind of serious injury then its a problem, but i've seen many people arrested for bar fights when nobody was hurt. i would hardly label that as "assault". now, as for this case, i don't know what happened, but if the guy was "jumped" and hurt then ok...im not talking about this case, just in general.

Depending upon which ex it was, I'd send the guy a "Thank You" card or my condolences. Either way, they ain't worth fighting over.reyray82 wrote:If my current gf or just dumped me ex gf was "huggin" on some dude she has a history with im probably going to get in a fight.

Fortunately, the courts do. In fact no actual physical contact need occure to be charged with assault if I'm not mistaken.jeebus wrote:if there's somekind of serious injury then its a problem, but i've seen many people arrested for bar fights when nobody was hurt. i would hardly label that as "assault".

oh i know they do, ive grown up surrounded by the law (Dad's a lawyer...spent off days from school in the clerk of courts office when i was little). thats the problem. when did people get such thin skins? like i said, if there are real injuries...aside from black eyes or bruises etc...or if someone is innocently standing there and is attacked (like i said don't know the details of this case...wasn't there) then who cares? every year the law books get bigger and bigger...and it aint new things being allowed...before long laws will regulate our day to day lives so much everyone will need a copy of the multi disk ohio code. some of this stuff should just be "boys will be boys". its to the point if someone does punch you for no reason u can't hit back or ur in jail too. (i don't approve of fighting...never been in one...been hit, but never been in a situation thats gotten as far as a fight) how about public intox? can't drive from a bar, can't walk from a bar. or is there some case where something terrible happened someone wants to throw out there to make me look heartless.
hey everyone! i'm a moron!
Police report said that Parks was hitting the guy in the back of the head. I don't know of anyone who's willing to just let someone beat the crap out of the back of their head, so I'm going to venture to say Parks jumped the guy.

No, I agree. As long as I can black your eyes without fear of retribution I'm good with that. And what if I black some girl's eye but nothing "serious"? OK too. There-do you feel heartless, yet?jeebus wrote:oh i know they do, ive grown up surrounded by the law (Dad's a lawyer...spent off days from school in the clerk of courts office when i was little). thats the problem. when did people get such thin skins? like i said, if there are real injuries...aside from black eyes or bruises etc...or if someone is innocently standing there and is attacked (like i said don't know the details of this case...wasn't there) then who cares? every year the law books get bigger and bigger...and it aint new things being allowed...before long laws will regulate our day to day lives so much everyone will need a copy of the multi disk ohio code. some of this stuff should just be "boys will be boys". its to the point if someone does punch you for no reason u can't hit back or ur in jail too. not at all an accurate interpretation...
I was making reference to the 30 year old hockey fights (on ice that are on media) that would be well worth watching and selling
I would say the same thing about any player, that is unless that player was clearly attacked with out provocation ...and say that you can walk away from anything but an attack , and players in any sport today need to have the basic intelligence on and off the field, to avoid these situations, if they value their carers. ESP now more than ever when considering the physical capabilities of these athletes are far beyond those from the past due to training.
The degree of serious permanent injury to the avg person in a fight with one of these highly trained indviduals is not just likely its garunteed, and then become subjected to vast amount jail time and pile of consequence that come with that. for the player its not worth it, for those who have done it, Its inexcusable and with out the most sever consequence such as removal from the team permanantly, which is the only acceptable consequence in this case, this coach will lose control of his players and we see more and more morons like this punk. The time to lay down the law is now, and to then they must be consistent with it no reguard as to what the out come of a game will be. The game is not as important as teaching these kids right and wrong.
as for PC weenies I have no room for them.
