Man, there's no pleasing people in these parts.hammb wrote:Fine with me. Now tell the kid he's the starter and let him play for at least the first half of the season with no looking over his shoulder. When he makes a mistake give the ball back to him. Let him feel confident that he has the coaches' confidence. As Tyler Sheehan goes, so go the 2007 BGSU Falcons.

He better be right, however, or it's going to get ugly around here...

Congrats to Sheehan. It sounds like he's done a good enough job to have earned the starting job from all the reports over the last few weeks. However, I still believe we are going to see Turner out there throughout the season at some point. Both of these guys bring a little something different to the table. I just hope AT keeps his head up and keeps working hard, because we're likely going to need and/or use him throughout the season in some shape or form.
GO BG!!!

The idea of the two-qb set intrigues me. The conventional wisdom is "you can't win with rotating qbs" but Mssr. Tebow and Leak showed you can win and win big with two qbs. I'd like to see this work for us- Sheehan drop back and throw, Turner run the option, qb draw with a threat to throw. Turner could be put in like Pope was a few years ago but with a better threat to throw.

The school of thought that says you can't win with two QBs believes that you can't win if you don't have a QB that knows he's "the guy" and isn't afraid to get pulled if he throws a pick. The system that Florida employed, and that I think is being proposed for us, would be having A QB who's "the guy" and then another QB with a different skill set who's brought in in specific situations to do specific things. Tebow came in on goal-line, short yardage, and blowout situations with very rare exception. If we used Turner in situations like that, but still allowed Tyler to play with confidence, I'd be all for it.Dayons_Den wrote:The idea of the two-qb set intrigues me. Congrats to Tyler. Now put your head down son and lead this team to victory! I don't want to hear any talks about using another QB, other than Freddie on trick plays and goal-line situations!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
