B:

Great pix! The "new" Doyt is great and will be even more incredible Saturday with beautiful weather and a sea of orange-clad fans.

I agree about the prices, though. They remind me too much of what we pay out here on the East Coast.

It's not that the prices are totally out of whack, and I shouldn't be surprised seeing as we're now with a real catering company. They're pretty much in line with what you pay at most stadiums for concessions.

I was just pointing out that the one obvious advantage to the previous poor service & selection was much lower than average prices.

I still think the popcorn is way out of line, considering it's a 200% increase from previous years. I imagine that you'll get more of it now than we did before, but I never wanted more, the small box was plenty for me.

Of course I don't really partake in any concessions at football games anyways, usually too stuffed from tailgating :) I'm assuming that we'll see similar price/selections at Anderson? If that's the case I'm bummed. I still remember it was only 5 years ago I could get a ticket, pop, and popcorn for $10. Last year that was up to $15. If we see similar increases there an evening of hoops will cost $20...hopefully the on court product is at least better :)

Coke is better than pepsi when it comes to soda. If I drank a lot of soda it would matter more to me.
The prices are not that bad they are high and they should consider student discounts ie a soda for 2 bucks but in the end its not a big deal...esp when you consider if you take your kids to a movie and buy concessions your going to rack up more on that deal that you will on the football game.

as far pizza goes if your going to ingest that poison..and your in BG there is only one choice. MYLES- a quality local brand that is unequaled.

If pizza was poison I would have been dead 30 years ago.

"I've never met a pizza, I didn't eat!"

By the way, Myles is my pick too, when given a choice.

Well, surprise surprise, I disagree with MACMAN :) Coke-vs-Pepsi is a pretty subjective thing, everyone has an opinion. I hate Coke, but like Pepsi. I usually drink plenty pre-game so I don't buy much pop anyways.

Pizza is poison? Ha. Pizza rocks.

I do agree that Myle's is the best option. Pisanello's or Pagliai's would also be far superior to Pizza Hut or Marco's. Unfortunately none of those are really options because they're not national chains with enough money to put huge sponsorship dollars into the program. Now that we're with a food service company it is quite likely that they have some sort of a deal with one of the pizza chains.

A catering company is going to go through a chain. Pizza hut already has the product the company needs. Plus, myles takes time and effort, they can practically flash cook the pizza hut stuff.
Yeah right girl!

I love Myle's Pizza....Back in 1987 I landed a job at the Sentinel Trib as an ad guy largely because of a sample ad I wrote for Myle's touting their late hours...."And Myle's to go before I sleep". Robert Frost was a visionary...

Boy, I hated working at the Sentinel....

So far as Coke goes...I 'll quote the pride of East Cleveland, the great Stetman Hall "Drinking more than one Coke makes my nads hurt".

Stet had a brother named Notrom...rumor has it they named the kid Notrom because a container of Morton's salt was around when he was delivered at home. I tend to doubt that one though because he would have been named S'Notrom if that were true....then again maybe they thought that sounded too french...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I think the concessions will be much improved, but one thing that sucks for students is they will no longer except meal plan at the concessions.

If Michigan Stadium can have a Mr. Spot's stand I see no reason why we can't have it!!!!

Spot's will be my first meal upon arrival in Bee Gee on Friday!

I heard somewhere. "Pizza is like sex...even when it's bad, it's still pretty good."

I only drink Coke or Pepsi when it's mixed with rum or some other intoxicating liquor, other than that, soda is pretty much useless.

Not at all. I think the 20,000 empty seats around me in the fourth quarter implied that.

That quote is hilarious! And pretty true. LOL!

I actually agree with MACMAN about Coke Vs Pepsi. Wow...hell must be getting pretty chilly today.

As far as the prices? They are getting steep. I paid $4 for a bottle of water or Diet Coke at the Shoe last year so BG is still less...but it's getting more expensive.

I am supposed to pick up a turkey sub at Mr Spots for my friend Kristen at work...she is a BG grad and was addicted to Mr Spots. Will need to keep it in the cooler on the way home. But I don't want to talk about the "way home" right now. Less than 48 hours til we are tailgating at DOYT L PERRY STADIUM!!!!! FINALLY!!!!

Thanks for the pix, hammb!
