Much like if we were to lose to Marshall (don't see it happening, really) and Toledo (could see it happening, but it doesn't look like it will), our season would be a waste, even with all the 30 or 40 point beatings we've handed out. Sure, there are individual successes, but team wise, beating everyone but the tough teams on your schedule gets you no pity from me, even if it was Buffalo going to the MACC.
Exactly right, good post. The Rockets have not beaten a team with a winning record, and I'm not sure we have, either.

This could be great news for BG. If Akron makes the title game and does not win it I don't see any way in hades any bowl team would take them, meaning the second MAC bowl bid would probably go to the winner of the BG-UT game!!

I can't believe that crAkron came back and won that game. I gave up when they were down 28-7. Congrats to them, but I hope Miami pounds them. Go 'Hawks!

This also peaks my optimism about Eastern Michigan at home against NIU. I think NIU is due to lose against UT and UT will come in fired up after last Tuesday night's mess. So, then it would come down to NIU at EMU for them to win the west. Eastern didn't look terrible against us and at home on Senior Night in late November, you never know what might happen or what the weather will be like. If all of that happens, it comes down to 11/23 (assuming we can handle the Thundering Terds).

Hmmm... I'll set 2-to-1 odds that fast food managers in Huntington are boarding up their drive-thru windows like a hurricane was coming about now... *laugh*

"BEWARE OF FLYING PICKLES!"
they're going crazy at turdnation. calling for pruett's firing, etc. same, lousy stuff they always do when they lose.

go bg! beat the turds!

Well, if we can beat Marshall, we can be thankful of one thing....the Herd leaves the MAC as LOSERS! As for Akron and a bowl, Charlie Frye might be a draw, but the real question is how well they think Akron would travel.

I expect Miami will beat Akron, however.

I replayed it over and over to try to read his lips. From what I could tell it was something like "you cost us the game".

it would suck to be that kid, but could not have happened to a better team.

Marshall gave Akron a huge gift. Frye is for real, but Marshall just plain blew it with all the miss opportunities. Three dropped passes and one fumble in the end zone.

I think I am going to TIVO this game when the replay it tonight.

Two words for Marshall: HA HA.
If Pruett said that, he should be slapped. He needs to walk into his receivers meeting this week and tell them that THEY cost them the game by not catching easy TD passes. Stan Hill put some passes right in the basket that they flat out dropped. All that talk about their great WRs is a laugh now - THEY cost the Herd the game. Catch TD passes and you don't need FGs to be made.

And Frye is indeed a good QB. NIU beat 'em by 30 and it wasn't even that close.

If Akron had a decent set of recievers they would have been much more dangerous. As it is, they aren't nearly as bad as I thought they were.

Watching the game, I'm amazed the Herd has been able to win as many games as they have. Based on the scores, it would seem luck didn't bounce their way, and they don't have the moxy to push past people most times.

I am sooooo looking forward to next week. I was before, but now its is sweeter if only because beating them send them home for the year. No title game. No bowl game.

I keep reading the pre-game hype talking about BGSU's offense against the MAC's best defense.

I've heard that setup before, against another green and white team.
