I couldn't stand him when he was at Miami either. He picked BG apart. He also put a punt inside our 5 yard line. Once the Steelers drafted him, I of course changed my mind. He was humble his first two years. I think he did get a full of himself last year. So far this year, he has been better.
He gave the Cleveland Police Department money to fund their K-9 unit before the game this year. He also did the same for Findlay after their dog got shot. I guess he will do that for all the police departments of teams the Steelers play.
I can see how people don't like him. I also can't stand Kellen Winslow. I think he is a punk, but I am sure I would like him if he was a Steeler. If they did not have Heath Miller

Boy being from southwest OH, I can only hope he does the same for the Bengal game. We need all the police help we can get!

I suspect the confluence of Miami's homecoming and Pittsburgh's bye week has more to do with this than does the opponent.Falconfreak90 wrote:They're pulling out all the stops, no? Ummm...yeah. No kidding. Just saying there seems to be quite a bit going on in Oxford this weekend. But there will be no pumpkin smashing in the MU locker room after the game.DevilGrad wrote:I suspect the confluence of Miami's homecoming and Pittsburgh's bye week has more to do with this than does the opponent.Falconfreak90 wrote:They're pulling out all the stops, no? If it makes any of you feel better...... during the 80's Miami REALLY loathed Brian McClure. They would still hate him if he had been successful in the NFL. Those 1980's Miami players still hate him.
I am looking forward to Saturday. We are enshrining Terry Hep in the Cradle of Coaches Plaza also. It will be moving and emotional probalby as much as losing Randy Walker and his enshrinement last year. The Cradle of Coaches Plaza is in the South End Zone. I met Coach Hep on several occassions and he was amazing nice to us and our boys. He always had a smile and encouraged the boys to ring the Victory Bell, which sat in his office. And He did not know me from Adam.
Personally - you can say what you want about Ben - but the word is he has given back to Miami more than we ever gave him. (I was told by reliable sources Ben donated part of his signing bonus to Miami..... it may have been 7 figures) I wish we could get our alumni (BG) athletes to step up like Ben has...... and he regularly comes back to Oxford during his bye week (if Miami is playing) and any kid approaching him will be cordially treated. That has been our PERSONAL experience.

If true , then thats a whale lot more than AD has ever done for BG since he's gotten the NBA. Maybe that'll soon change now with Coach Orr at the helm.Tech83 wrote:
