Stroh's

Nothing like the original 30 pack. Fire brewed!
They used to be $1.35 each at Howard's.

I don't know why that sticks in my head. Maybe becuase I was at Howards. A lot.

I'm generally a beer snob, but I really appreciate Stroh's every once in awhile.

I don't recall Suisham exactly booming his kickoffs either..he was consistently between the 5 and the goal line. He was money on PAT's but a bit shaky on FG's...I can remember holding my breath when he was called upon to kick a 40+ yard attempt agaisnt UT in 2003...he made it though.

He's definitley added some strength to his leg in the NFL though. You can have a job in the league for a long time if you can stay accurate on your FG's...most coaches will trade those 50+ yard attempts for a guy who can hit the better part of his kicks from 45 yards in because the NFL deplores uncertainty. Give a coach some working parameters and they're as happy as pigs in slop.

So far as Stroh's goes...I loveded Stroh's until they flew a banner around Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego during the 1984 Series...that banner said "Good Luck Padres"...damn...a Detroit institution like Stroh's rooting against the TGigers? What's next, Vernor's is going to start using blue and white cans to lure Maple Leaf fans?

But...that was 23 years ago...I'm thinking I may be ready to apprecioate Stroh's again...time heals all wounds.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Suisham had his share of kick offs out of bounds, too.

Great kick, regardless. He misses that kick, and we might have been in trouble.
Sweet. Thanks for the clarification, all. It was a money kick...and Vrvilo is money. Show me da money. \:D/

We were too far away to know for sure but all I know is I saw the refs signal good and we were on our way to a BiG win!

What is that supposed to mean? I was wondering if they have landed at other schools and are playing or not.

Can anyone confirm? Most of us were 100 yards away but I could have sworn it hit the crossbar.

In any event, Vrvilo is doing very well. 8-10 on FG's, including a 55 yard attempt to end the 1st half at Sparty...25-25 on XP's. Just awesome.
Mike, are all the references to Stroh's related to the brews you had at the game? I thought it had plenty of distance, but then, my eyes are a bit "older" than yours! :D

Nope. Two Water Lites wouldn't cloud that! LOL! I saw the ball bounce off something and thought it hit the crossbar.

Good to know the kick would have been good from 55.
