It blew my mind that we actually ran an option play, and I wasn't all that surprised to see it be successful. I was so stunned in fact, that I almost forgot about the loss. Almost.

I have always thought (in my limited football knowledge) that the option run in the spread with a flanking HB is potentially the most dangerous ground weapon in the scheme. I have never understood why we never seem to use it. Its good to know it's in the playbook though, I suppose.

Everything I can say on this subject has pretty much already been said. I sat with Bleeding Orange, Warthog, and Jacobs4Heisman at the spring game, and we all thought Glaud looked like the best fit for the offense at the time. Certainly Sheehan had the bigger arm, but Glaud was the one that seemed to have the mix of skills necessary for this system and he moved the ball well, even though he wasn't out there that often.

I've said on here countless times, going back to the Omar days even, that this system was designed for a mobile QB. Omar's passing ability was so great that it overcame his lack of mobility, but Sheehan (at least the hurt version) is not nearly the passer Omar was. I find it hard to believe he ever will be, because Omar is one of the most accurate passers I've seen in college football. He could put the ball on a dime from anywhere within 30 yards, and he could do it while on the move as well.

I'm not going to say Glaud is the answer, but I think his skillset fits this scheme perfectly. Like Flipper, I'm inclined to believe Nate Brown is the future at the position, but you just cannot pull his redshirt at this juncture.
