Ronnie Lott cut his finger off and just kept playing....
JK, As you know or should know, Corey is probably my favorite player on this team and a light in a dark tunnel at times....especially the OSU catch last year.
As an aside I think you provide, IMO, the perfect example of how a parent can come into a board like this, with die hards who know very little in terms of the behind the scenes aspects (I am one), and maintain a respectful relationship with the posters, if not more(actually for sure more). As a parent of an athlete I would be afraid I would let myself go to far at times, a fine line you walk like an acrobat. I hope he is back fast. Is there a chance it may be a season ender? I broke my hand in basketball in HS and was down 6 weeks. When I came back strong armed men were not throwing an object at me as fast as possible while other men tried to knock me to the ground. If he can come back from something like this, this season that would be spectacular. If it is next season, thats ok too. I just hope I can get my #1 Brown BG jersey before then.
Update on Corey
I have not heard specifically from the doctor on the amount of time it would take to get back on the field. Everything I have read about this kind of thing points towards 8-10 weeks. So even if a bowl game was a possibility, I don't know if he could be back for that. Maybe if it was one of those in January.
After surgery he will be placed in a cast for 2 weeks then the healing will be evaluated and he will be recast for another 2 weeks. Then the rehab will start.
I am sure I will find out more after the surgery.

Corey stopped by the tailgate last night well before most people had arrived. It was great talking with him, as he has such an incredible attitude. I can't imagine the mental anguish that kid has gone through!! He said he has surgery on Wednesday.
Thanks for stopping by to talk with us, Corey and GET WELL SOON!!!! We will all be thinking of you!!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

He's one of our leaders, we will miss his contributions on the field for sure. I noticed last night he was walking the sidelines, giving encouragement, slapping shoulder pads, etc, the whole game. That is what a good team player does, he supports his team even when he can't physically contribute. And that's why he's one of my favorite Falcons!

Absolutely. Great to see Corey stop by and say hi. This has to be so difficult for such a competitor like Corey. Hoping that injury heals properly and fully...that is the most important thing.Falcon Fanatic wrote:Corey stopped by the tailgate last night well before most people had arrived.
