We've covered this before,...but here we go again. The original series with Boise State was a pair of 1 for 1's. We played our first game there in 2005. They were to come here in 2006 and again IIRC, in 2008.

The MAC had severe issues with scheduling in 2006 and 2007. OU needed to dump a game (with Utah, I think) Boise State was asked to delay coming to BG until 2007 so they could assume OU's contract with the Utes.
Boise agreed to do that, but the price for doing so was calling the first trip here off....they no longer owed us that game. A trip here in 2007 would fulfill their committment to play here in 2009.

When scheduling problems arose again in 2007 (some of them caused by us as we backed out on Pitt to sign the deal with Minnesota) Boise Statewas again asked by the league office to strike BGSU from their schedule. They agreed to do so with the understanding that they were no longer under ANY obligation to come here EVER.

The school's then agreed to sign a third 1 for 1. The end result is we still owe Boise a trip out west to fulfill the second 1 for 1. They were gracious enough to agree to playing the front end of the third 1 for 1 here...even though we pissed away two chances to bring them here before.

The fact that we threw away two games with such a high profile foe when we've been dogged by attendance issues for years galls me to this day....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Well, I'd like to hear the AD explain that.

Rick Chryst sucks... blame him and the other ADs who can't schedule compentently... you can also blame the fact that we took in temple and that screwed things even more with now an unbalanced schedule.

As a Miami fan, I like only playing 7 conference games, I hope we can keep that up from now on... 5 OOC games although brutal to the overall record only helps strengthen our wallets and get more national exposure.

Would be interesting to know if the REASON for this change is the agreement between the MAC and B-11 to play more games against each other...would tend to eliminate the "other" power teams...For myself, I'd rather see us at HOME vs. Minny than having to travel to Blacksburg....though I understand YOUR frustration with this.
